I was playing Midway the other day, watching the jap planes fly over and nuke the airbase and thought: "It would be awesome to see that on a map of Pearl Harbour."

I think it could end up being be a fantastic looking map with the harbour and surrounding island landscape, with Japs attacking with bombers and torpedo bombers. The Americans could also get a bunch of planes (as there were) and try and get them airborne to defend their fleet.

It seems silly not to have it in FH and I'd really like to see what the mapping team could come up with cinematically

The only problem with that is that there would be no element of surprise, so that would basically defeat the whole purpose. Maybe it would be better if it was an objective-based map, like destroy the Arizona or something.

Ain't that the damn truth.

Anyways. I think it could be done. Sure the element of surprise isn't there. But look at other maps like Omaha...that is sort-a a surprise. So is the BotB, it began as a surprise attack too. I think you could just make japs all airplanes and make the americans AA gunners on static battleships and cruisers and give them about 3 or 4 planes.

SilenT AssassiN - I thought this might have been mentioned before, but whats the point of a forum if you aren't going to rediscuss old things with new ideas and angles?

I suppose the Americans could get little time to get ready (i.e. they spawn some distance away from AA guns, ships and aircraft.)

I suggested it mainly for the potential look of the stage. I have this grand vision of a brilliant looking Pearl Harbour stage, but I'm not really a mapper. I thought it would be weird not to see it in a game (or in this case a mod) of WW2 :uhm:

all it would be is a Battle of Britain but in the Pacific, and the allies have little to no planes

right.
