Actually if there was one plane that could dogfight while carrying bombs it was the Corsair.
Wicked little beastie.
Saipan is ruined by the flag chasing = make it into a push map

Indeed, it was the precursor to modern multirole aircraft. It was the best fighter in the pacific, hands down
Saipan could benefit from having less flags.
There needs to be more jungle to hide in. Vehicles should be forced to use the roads more instead of having free range of the entire island.

Some say it was the best fighter of the war period.
Personally, I hate Saipan too. Its not a Pacific island. There's no vegetation, there's no chance for ambushes, and the map takes FOREVER to finish because people keep jetting out to get flags behind the lines.
Japs need a LOT more MG positions, a LOT more vegetation that would restrict Sherman movement, and some more tanks/armor (light tanks and tankettes..) would make it a lot more bearable to play. 90% of the time you're stuck at some flag, forced to walk to the next one, and the flags are all over the place at huge distances and its just a load of crap.
I was hoping this map would be redone soon, mainly because it just doesn't feel right per say. I think it would be better to change it so that it's a push map for one, two, instead of the Americans attacking the whole island, make it somewhat like Charlie Sector, where it concentrates on only one beachhead, and the US troops have to advance from there with tanks etc. Japanese would have dug in trenches and gun emplacements and some tanks. But hell, this is just an idea i'm throwing out, more vegatation added to this map would be fine as well instead of just reworking the map completly I guess.
