I have been playing .7 since its release, and FH long before that, but its only in .7 that I noticed something. The way I see it, in FH2 Ironsights will be implemented, as well as more realistic accuracy, which means SMGs will be unnerfed, which means longer range SMG kills, aka IRL, you know. Well, this puts some particular stress on a concept which has been on my nerves for some time. In FH2, please, I BEG of you, NO MORE COD MAPS, PLEASE! First of all, with FH physics they play like crap, see Pegasus, or, no ESPECIALLY Stalingrad, plays like crap, not to mention historical bullshit, there was never a "suicide charge up a hill against 7 MG42s" that is in that map, the idea was first produced in "Enemy at the Gates" The scenes in that movie are great, but total BS, it pisses me off, especially the "1 rifle for 2 ppl" BS, never happened, if there was one thing the red army wasnt running out of its small arms. But I'm Rambling., sorry. Look at Pegasus, the mortar rapes everything, and on Pavlov. thats just horrible. So please, I beg you, no more CoD maps, they play like crap, and not to mention, look like crap too. Nothing like the FH originals, if you make a Stalingrad map, please make a realistic one, not that Enemy At the Gates/CoD bullshit that it is now. Just, please, no, they have no place in FH, they just....suck, really. Please, no more.
Did it occur to you that Pegasus Bridge actually looks like Pegasus Bridge, and the similarity to a COD map with same name is because CoD team made a map to look like Pegasus Bridge? No game or mod owns the historical event; both CoD and FH make replicas of it - the similarity betweeen the two is not coincidential, but a similarity to history/geograph present in both games. This makes them related, but not clones. Sort of like the chimpanzee and the homo sapiens....
Your right FH Stalingrad is a sh*tty copy of Enemy at the Gates which was also copied by COD and should be taken out. I think Pegasus Bridge and Pavlov's House are good maps just need some work. Currently on Pegasus Bridge the Axis are not able to take out a good mortar who can stay unharmed the whole map because of the lines. On Pegasus Bridge the Allies should have the bridge flag on their side of the bridge when the map starts and the lines around the mains should be removed. Currently Pavlov's House is just a big knife fight. Pavlov's House map size should be made a little larger, a sewer under the map would be nice, Soviet main should be a warehouse, a M38 AT gun in the warehouse pointed Southwest when added, West of Pavlov's house there should be a minefield with bared wire, Northwest of Pavlov's house there should be a mg nest with a tunnel to Pavlov's house, mortars in Pavlov's house, tanks should be made capturable, a mix of PTRD-41 and PTRS-41, more types of Soviet mgs/grenades when added, Axis should be able to enter the basement, and lines around the bases should be removed.
personally i love these type of maps, so i vote for twice as many cod type maps (i.e. based on the actual place, and made from photos)

I wholeheartily agree.

I would like to see a Hill 400 map. That level in COD2 was really cool.
My God, you piss me off, can you be more original and do a small research before claim "oh, looks like the CoD map, I am so cool", like the hordes of kids that say the same bullshit every time a poor mod post pics of a Pegasus bridge map?. BattleGroup did a Pegasus map, XWW2 also, and we, always the same old song...the benouville bridge is a real place, damn it, like Pavlov's house

I hate the developer team for that. There's the Omaha Beach idea ripped off from Saving Private Ryan, too. Why don't they use historical battles instead of stealing things from games and movies?!
As a side note, if I was a mapper, I'd be mighty angered if I was told my map "looked like crap".
You are not forced to like the maps of Forgotten Hope. You can dislike all the maps, hate the choice of vehicles, and think that the very principle behind the game is wrong ("take the bloodiest war in history and degenerate it into a game played for fun, how disrespectful!"). That's your prerogative.
However, it really helps to put an ounce or two of politeness, gratitude, and courtesy into your posts. As a devoted map designer myself (for Empires: Dawn of the Modern World, which no one's ever heard about:o), I can figure with a good deal of certainity that each and every map in Forgotten Hope is the product of perhaps months of research, planning, designing, and testing, and not showing any respect to the designer is an act of major rudeness.
But I'm Rambling., sorry.
I'm so glad even you realized:rolleyes:.
