Juno beach should have a long beach with lots of houses with Pak40s and MG42s emplaced. Kind of like Omaha but with ouses instead of bunkers, and with a couple of Churchill AVREs down on the beach with the Canucks.

'[11PzG USMA2010']Du Hoc would be a bitch. You would have Germans tossing grenades down on the Americans, firing MP40s down at them. First and foremost, have them down there camping.

Now, I know this was the case IRL. It is fun on Omaha, but on Pointe Du Hoc? Unless you remove scaling the cliff the map would be no fun.

I'm sure they can implement some type of "anti-camp" system. :p

As for Meadow's comment...my mouth is already watering at that description!

I don't think HMS Fearless would be suitable for the mod- she was launched in 1963, slightly too late for the mods timeframe!

Yes I know, but that was the best example I could find. They did however use LCA's in the assault.

I think theres enough d day maps around what we really needs is a monte cassino map either the monastery or the town both saw extensive fighting some of the worst in the war and was even described by one German as worse than stalingrad And best of all you dont need any italians you could use french Americans Poles Aussies Brits

You know, like Rusty implied, there ARE other battles than those of D-Day  Even if it was an important assault at Normandy, and the biggest landing attack ever, it still wasn't a huge offensive on an absolute scale. You make too many D-Day maps and they just become too alike. And while Gold is quite nice, Charlie is crappy to play. So I don't really have high expectations of any future D-Day maps.

I agree totaly here it seems were concentrating so much on D day maps. Well what about the Italian theater of war like Sicily, Salerno, Cassino. Has anybody heardd that British song called the D day dodgers? Well here it is read it and weep and lets make sure we dont also forget those that payed the ultimate sacrifice in ITALY!

We are the D-Day Dodgers, way out in Italy Always on the vino, always on the spree Eighth Army skivers and their tanks We live in Rome among the Yanks We are the D-Day Dodgers, in sunny Italy We landed at Salerno, a holiday with pay The Jerries brought the bands out, to greet us on the way Showed us the sights and gave us tea We all sang songs, the beer was free The drunken D-Day Dodgers, in sunny Italy

Palermo and Cassino were taken in our stride We didn't go to fight there, we just went for the ride Anzio and Sangro were the same We only went to look for dames The randy D-Day Dodgers, in sunny Italy

On our way to Florence, we had a lovely time Ran a bus from Rimini, right through the Gothic Line Then to Bologna we did go After that we crossed the Po We are the D-Day Dodgers, in sunny Italy

Once we heard a rumour that we were going home Back to dear old Blighty, never more to Rome Then someone said "In France you'll fight" We said "No fear, we'll just sit tight" The windy D-Day Dodgers, in sunny Italy

We hope the Second Army soon gets home on leave After six months service, it's time for their reprieve But we can carry on out here Another two or three more years Contented D-Day Dodgers, in sunny Italy

Dear Lady Astor, you think you know a lot Standing on your platform and talking tommy rot You England's sweetheart and it's pride We think your mouths too fucking wide Thats from your D-Day Dodgers, in sunny Italy

Slowly Look around the mountians, in the mud and rain You'll find the scattered crosses, there's some which have no name Heartbreak and toil and suffering gone The boys beneath them slumber on They are the D-Day Dodgers, who'll stay in Italy
