While medics are important to the brilliant flow of the BF2 game, I also think they need to be redone for WW2. I don't like the arcade shooting and gunning & running, but the gameplay flows nicely in BF2 and medics play a big part here. Instead of zapping people so they return to life I would like to see the medics being able to drag friends back to cover where they can work on the fallen mate for 5-10 seconds before he gets back to life. The rest of the team would have to defend the medic while he works. To make medics important over just spawning again I'd like to see the spawn timer increased, so actually getting your fallen mates becomes part of the gameplay. Also taking a look at how Red Orchestra handles supressive fire would be a good idea. I don't know if that effect is possible in BF2, but it really adds a lot to gameplay. But supressive fire would be important when getting a fallen mate back to cover. Smoke grenades too of course. There are only two things that make BF2 a great game. The rest of the game is pretty standart and without these two things the game wouldn't be special. The spawning at Squad Leader and the way medics work is what makes BF2 special...

Check the stickys in General Discussion forum for details on medic class in FH2 and other plans. I would like to have medics compleately weapon-less or unless only with a pistol, then it would be up to enemy if he would let the guy live if he would face one.:p

Medics need to be armed in my opion because this is not real life, there are tickets and if a guy sees a medic revving anotehr guy, thats 2 tickets gine because if u kill eidc the other guy will die as well sor eally they need to be amred for gameplay wise, but then the class might be abused so maybe no wepaon would cut down on taht, either way there is good or bad.

I would be hoping for other player's respect for people saving other people instead of fighting.;) Maybe minus tickets for killing a medic, unless he fights back or dies from random fire?:naughty:

Yes minus scoring has been talked about befor for this situation and i do agree if medic dont get weapons or only a pistol, but others argued that it is unfair due to the fact we are using tickets so really its only a game so decentsy does not apply, its either me or him some people may say. I dont agree but it may cause problems far away like if u fire from along ways away and it turns out u hit a medic and u get - score, not very good for a mistake,still it does make sense seeing medics are there to help not fight in most cases, this could be argued forever.

what if shooting enemy medics was like tking? you get minus score. kill enough medics, boot, lol.

Might be a trouble to code. Besides, half the time the medic's going to be shot too. This isn't Hollywood.

I'd rather just spawn in on my squad leader. It'd take about the same amount of time, not to mention it'd be more reliable.

That would be kind of dumb. First of all, spawn time is set by servers, not by the mod itself. Second of all, even if the FH team could make spawn time long, why would they? The whole "fallen mates" thing could get way out of hand.

Not really. BF2 medics are nothing new. Squad Leader is a nice feature, perhaps awesome, but definitely not game-defining.

That's kind of dumb, giving a certain class a sort of "immunity". How will you stop medics from capturing control points? ANd the "unless he fights back" thing might not be codeable.

Again, bad idea since it gives medics "immunity". You wouldn't be able to stop them from say, rampaging in a vehicle or capturing control points. Sure, you might say "then make it so they can't do either", but then no one would play medic class.

Medics should be implemented similar to BF1942. My idea for medic kit:

1. Knife 2. Pistol 3. Rifle 4. med kit

Rifle should have fewer clips than the Assault man's rifle. Med kit should only be able to heal others, similar to how it was in EoD.
