Lately, the brightness of my monitor keeps changing. It doesn't do it quickly, but progressively gets darker. I increase the brightness on my monitor manually, but eventually it will still go darker. Then sometime later, it "catches on" to the higher settings I put in manually, & all of a sudden it's too bright. My guess is my monitor is going bad. However, a friend suggested it might be my V3 card. This doesn't make sense to me, but I'm no expert. Also, I think I read somewhere that the latest V3 drivers cause a variety of problems. I'm not sure how to determine what's really going on, short of attaching a different monitor or video card to my machine. Any thoughts? My monitor is a Relisys RE518B, and as I said, I have a V3 with the latest drivers. My mobo is an FIC VA503+, my CPU is an AMD K6-2/ 350 MHz. I have 80 MB of RAM. Thanx.

You may have a bad monitor, borrow someone's before you replace it. BUT!! I have overclocked my VooDoo 3000 card and it does the same thing.. If you overclock it too much or the card isn't getting enough power to it, the same symptoms can occur.. just my 2 cents.. Come and visit my new site -- Julio
