i think there should be more ammo for LMG kit (light muchine gunner) because in mg34 you only get like 3 magazine and u can use it all up in like 20 sec to suppress the enemy. i think bren has two little ammo for same reason. i think that there should either be more ammo for the LMG kit or that the LMG kit should have ammo ressuply bag so you and your teammates dont run out of ammo and find those ammo boxes in bunkers which can be miles away

I gotta agree, the MG34 and Bren should carry more ammo, as one is representing not just one man, but in the case of the MG34 bipod, 3 men, and the Bren, 2 men.

In the case of the Bren, each gunner would carry 6 magazines, plus any spares in pockets, plus riflemen also would carry a few. It should have at LEAST 12 mags, if not more.

For the MG34 bipod, the gunner would carry 1 mag in the gun, 2 mags in the carrier in his spare hand. The assistant gunner would carry another 4 mags, and the observer would carry 4 mags (note, this is thinking in the sense of the assault mag as displaying in FH2). If fed by belt, and I get the feeling the MG42 will be, then the gunner would carry one box of 250 rounds, the assistant would carry another 2 250 round boxes, observer another 2 250 boxes, and there prob would be another 50 rounds draped over each man's neck, and possible another 50-100 round belt already in the gun and wrapped around the barrel.

Duly, there should be at least 11 mags for the MG34, and if the MG42 is belt fed, then around 1500 rounds.

I whole hardetly agree on having more ammo for the LMG. Many times in a suppresive role, it's so annoying to be aiding your teammates, and be like, oh wait, sorry I have to run back to our base and get more ammo. Maybe if Schutze kits had a "drop a clip" style thing like the bandage :P Might be too arcadey BF2 though. Just give em more ammo ;P

I agree with the OP and everyone else who has posted for that matter. Give the machine gunners tons of ammo! On a slightly different note, when was the last time anybody ran out of ammo for the Fiat or the Panzer III? You don't even live long enough to begin worrying about ammo. I think a reasonable compromise would be to half the ammo capacity of said tanks, and convert it to extra mags for the brens and mg34s.

I'm kind of joking about the second part, ah screw it just give us more ammo! :D

Well, the tanks run out of PzG and HEAT/HE really quickly, but it makes sense, and they are your most valuable rounds so you'll want to save them until necessary, I personally like it because you know then that a tank cant bombard you with HE forever :P

I agree.During war time the bren was mostly operated by just one soldier, so 6-7 mags would be good to start with.Yeah every rifleman could carry one or shit, but that needn't be implemented right now.

how about that we can resupply static machine guns easier? now it's so hard to land an supply crate just above the machine gun in a bunker. or simply make it more ammo or unlimited?

Not talking about the static MGs, we mean the kit ones.

And Ulfus, all Bren guns had 2 man teams, just like all MG34 and 42 had 3 man team for bipod, or 5 for tripod. Only in late war did it become 2 for bipod, and 3 or 4 for tripod when numbers were an issue. Just because you don't see it in a movie or game, doesn't mean it didn't happen in real life.

For instance, the average german squad was 9 men. One NCO, usually an Unteroffizer led it, with an Obergefreiter as his XO. There were 3 men on the MG, and 4 basic riflemen. The MG was run usually by 2 Gefreiters and a Schuetze, and the 4 basic riflemen were usually Gefreiters or Schutzes.

Now, I have yet to ever see a game or movie show this accuratly. So please, don't base how it should be off that.

To me it seems the only 'MG' without a team would be the BAR, because it was more of a support gun :P But yeah, thats the staple squad Mudra ;) I think it would be interesting if you gave MG ammo to medic kits or something, because its really annoying to run out of ammo while at a stationary MG :\ Some of them have unlimited ammo, some don't, it's quite weird D:

yeah, stationary weapons could all use some more ammo. Even if they get destroyed after running out of ammo and rebuilt, they still have 0 ammo...
