.Invictus.;4522343502nd is a regiment of the 101st.

Right, the 82nd was the other division. Letssee, 3 regiments, right? So for the 101st... 501 PIR 502 PIR 506 PIR right? Also, for the name, if you want to make it something like the 3rd Army, instead of a division (Bradely commanded the 3rd Army at this time, I believe).

Von Mudra;4522363" 2nd SS "Panzer Lehr" division"

:O How dare they disgrace the good name of the 130th Panzer Lehr by naming the 2nd SS as the Panzer Lehr division. The 2nd SS was Das Reich, the 130th was Panzer Lehr.

Favourite div in HoI2 =D the one that entered in moscow..

I agree on Young.. i agree, but if i understand.. you want the devs to make each Division Uniform? that would be hours of job.. but first, we only need a German / US Playermodel

I'm not sure it will be a big job. US division will have not so much difference except airborne troopers for uniform. The big difference will be when they will do the skin.

There will be unit specific/more fitting skins once texture packs are released (if they make one :P) Though FH is already doing a good job :) 3-4 skins for Germans in Afrika vs. the one/two we got in FH1 <3

Well yes, technically... I was going to start listing off the different Regiments that we've come to hear about for the 101st but I stopped myself. I probably should have done:

101st Airborne: -502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment -506th Parachute Infantry Regiment -327th Glider Infantry Regiment -401st Glider Infantry Regiment

82nd Airborne : -504th Parachute Infantry Regiment -505th Parachute Infantry Regiment -325th Glider Infantry Regiment

But what would have been the point. :P Glad to see the suggestion is being taken into account. I'm loving the mod and have brought my unit into the game now (as a secondary supported game) our primary is Darkest Hour for RO. Hopefully you guys keep tweaking this mod to make it as realistic as possible (but fun of course).

I went back and read through the other posts I missed. In regard to:

torenico;4522875I agree on Young.. i agree, but if i understand.. you want the devs to make each Division Uniform? that would be hours of job.. but first, we only need a German / US Playermodel

No, I'm not saying they would need or should have a skin/model for every Division. Like I mentioned in my earlier post, there's basically:

- Infantry Division (basic uniform) - Airborne Division (basic uniform)

... and you'd be set. That's just for the Allies. Of course... depending on the timeframe each era had different uniforms (1941-1943 had one style, and 1944-1945 had another for your Infantry). The tankers also used a different type of uniform (technically four throughout their service... the HBT, the M1941 set, the M1943 set, and a camouflage set that resembled the German uniform so much they tossed it out around 1944).

There's a good chart on the field gear posted here:

GI Intelligence Dept.

It's all rather confusing when it comes to uniforms as the Army didn't have any specific set that you had to wear. You had a choice in 1943 of using both sets of field jackets, or you could have used the HBT's, or in the case of the Armored Infantry, you had that silly camo set (which by the way caused a lot of friendly fire incidents). Here's what that camo looked like (the guys in the center):

us_camo_1944_small.jpg

So you can see where the confusion came from when those troops were running around where the Germans were likely to be.

Anyway... keep up the good work, I'll be sure to pipe in with some suggestions from time to time. ;)

Theres no point, I just thought to clear up your mistake about divisions and regiments :p It's a fine suggestion, but time is valueble and making a different shoulderpatch for every map is killing time. We don't want to wait 8 years on FH2.2.

Yeah that's what I got for posting with little to no sleep (I originally wanted to list them all, but put 502nd where it probably should have said 82nd). Good catch though. Hehe.

No I agree... they could technically leave the armpatch off and you'd never need to worry about it. Maps featuring the Armored Divisions could have their own generic armored patch with no number on it. They all looked the same (just remove the number and the unit motto).

The camo uniform used by the army was issued to a single division during Operation Cobra, and was subsequently removed from combat due to, as you said, the friendly fire that was all too common for GIs who were used to only german troops wearing camo.

As for arm patch detail, I think the devs will pick an armpatch from a generic division, and that'll be it. Sorry, there is much more important stuff to be done then patches on the skins.
