I didn't make it!
I did a search and didnt find anything on this previously so I thought Id post. I just started playing FH a few months ago and Im an avid WWII history buff so I love it. However, there is one major issue i have with the mod. The MP40 9mm. In FH the rate of fire is way too slow. In real life this weapon had a much faster rate of fire than the Thompson. In FH the Thompson .45 is much faster and easier to control. They really should be switched. The MP 40 was known for its rate of fire and controlability. The stopping power wasnt even close to a Thompsons, but it didnt matter because you could group bullets like crazy with the MP 40. Where as while shooting the Thompson you would be lucky to shoot a good grouping at 20 yds. Ive shot a full auto Thompson SMG. They take off and just about try to fly out of your arms when you lay into something. Sorry to complain so much, it just really frustrates me while playing the game. I know FH is known for its realism, thats why it bothers me really. HOpefully there will be a patch one day to fix that. Thanks.
The mp40 had a slower rate of fire than the Thompson, maybe your thinking of the m3 greasegun. http://www.stormpages.com/garyjkennedy/Weapons/submachineguns/sub_machine_guns.htm Grease gun = Rate of Fire 400 rpm lower down the page, Thompson = Rate of Fire 700 rpm Then the mp40 = Rate of fire 500rpm Now the mp40 was know for controllability but a slower rof.
I'm not sure, but I think the Greasegun has a faster ROF than the MP40 ingame. I'll have to try it out sometime.
The ROFs are pretty fine in game now, mp40 is just a bit too difficult to handle compared to thompson or greasegun.
greasegun has correct rof, but its sound is buggered. it plays 2 sounds per bullet.

YOu jsut proved the opposite of what you said. The MP40 is more controllable then the Thompson causes of its SLOWER ROF. Nice StG44 footage though.
Think the Thompson there has a post war lighter bolt.
That might have something to do with it...
Right now the Thompson performs just fine as far as I'm concerned. Especially the M1928, love the new animation!
