ok geeks. time to help me sort out this shit.

i am experiencing slow transfer speeds of all file types over MSN. thing is, it only effects my transfers to one other person (who will post his shizzle after me).

i have no firewall or router and have no clue why i am having this problem. i have recently re-installed MSN to see if it helps, but no. no luck.

so put on your techie heads and sort this out for me.

love n snuggles,

~AzH~

Do a traceroute on AzHs ip, count nodes. Physical distance? what connection do you guys have? ADSL -asymetric digital subscriber line (uload speeds suck) ISP fault?

we both have cable. mine is 1meg connection, K has 521kb.

Physical Distance is roughly 200 miles (not very far). :D

we were thinking it was an ISP issue as we don't have issues sending to or recieving from others. i recently re-formatted and the problem started then. . .

how do i do a traceroute??

thanks.

http://www.tracert.com/cgi-bin/trace.pl Select the location closest to the person you're trying to transfer to. Both of you should do it.

Whoever has the most bandwith upload download cuteftp server and host a ftp server. Not very difficult and might improve transfer speed.
