I'm sure that I am not the only one out there who plays on a less than ideal system. Truth be told, I have it worse than most of you, playing not only an a laptop, but an Apple laptop at that! The power provided by a Mobility Radeon 9700 and 512 megabytes of RAM just can't give enough juice to Forgotten Hope. It bothers me, because my old 9200 with 32 megs of video RAM worked fine. My suggestion is this... Perhaps provide a patch that drastically reduces multitexturing. I care a hell of a lot more about playability than looks. If I could go though the town on Mesue River Line lag-free, despite it looking like cray, I would do it. I have already reduced my texture and sound quality as low as it can go. Resolution below 1024x876 make tank sights unduely large, so that can't be helped by somone like me for whom taking is a way of life. I can't turn down view distance, because I don't want to make myself vulnerable to an enemy I can't see. All I am saying is shave off the seven or whatever textures used on buildings to maybe two, and pack it as a patch for those of us with rigs we are ashamed of. Oh, and no, I can not upgrade, trade in, or purcahse a whole new computer. Its an Apple, unupgradeable. Trade in? It was a gift. Get a new one, I'm going to basic in a few months, waste of money. This might sound half baked, but at least give it some thought.

In console renderer.mipmapbias -8 Or you can add the line at the end of your videodefault.con file in settings folder for the mod This makes tank sights from this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v256/hydraslav/ch1.jpg to this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v256/hydraslav/ch2.jpg I've been playing on 800x600 for as long as the FH has been out, with everything turned Off/Low

   512 Mb of video RAM is defenetly enough, I play it on 128 without any problems. You might have not enough good processor or not enough ammount of RAM. Or it is some kind of laptop version of your video card, maybe it has very low GPU and VRAM clock rate?
 No no no. 64 megs of video memory. 512 megs of DDR-SDRAM for the entire system. I don't think there is a commercial card with 512 megs of video RAM. HydraSlav, you amaze me. Reputation points for you.
Well, there is one card from ATI with 512 Mb of memory, I think that it comes with the newest models of Radeon X800XT.

You need to get a gig of RAM for FH to be really playable. That 64mb of graphics ram is also killing you.
I'm too cool to Post

Its probably also shared memory. The laptops mobo reserves 64 MB from system memory for the video. Meaning it is not dedicated to video and it is not as fast as DDR or DDR2 RAM normally used for video applications.
Also Nvidia is sampling 512MB DDR2 7900 GTX's. ATI is doing the same, so 512MB cards will be here soon.
All I need is a dual 7800GTX with 512MB DDR2 at 1400MHz.

There are 512MB GeForce6800 Ultras from BFG, and they have been out for quite some time. You people make it sound like a 512MB GPU is something new http://www.bfgtech.com/6800U_512_PCIX.html
Odd thing is, my last computer ran FH .66 fine. The basics of that system: Presario X1000 Notebook: 1.5 GHz Centrino 512 MB DDR-SDRAM Mobility Radeon 9200 with 64 MB of video memory. I'll see if I can get a good deal on a 512 megabyte stick of RAM for my PowerBook. Direct from apple, they cost something like $150.00, but third parties are pushing them for $60 to $100.

Me too, me too!:D I don't think that there is a game that would use even 60% of it's power:nodding:. I would only use this 256 Mb of ram for Battlefield 2 unless the FH 2 will require more...
