i really don't like the lag on eastern blitz.. frankly, this is what i think you should do. take the map... omit the city, and the mines, pretty much everything below the 6 grids. and turn it into this: cut.jpg add a few flags here and there.. i mean, i know the map is about industry and resources captured by germans during the invasion, but the outskirts/countryside, is an amazing map on its own.. i wouldn't have complained about this, its just i can'tt go into the city due to lag, and i don't have any teammates to work with when i go out into the countryside.. everyone goes for the city.

i agree, maybe instead of a city the should have a couple of small villages and maybe just a railroad track with bombed out cars.

my suggestion: get a decent pc and stop nagging about "lag". Its not lag anyhow - just youre machine cant handle this map. With your attitude we would still be playing in an untextured vector world which you 12Mhz 286 could handle. How are you gonna cope with FH once they convert to BF2? You'll certainly need more power for that than for Eastern Blitz.

Uh, bullshit. I'm running a P4 at 3.5GHz, a 9800 Pro at XT speeds, and a gig of OCZ Gold PC4000 and I get 5-10fps when I turn toward the city. Every other map in FH, and every other game I own for that matter, runs maxed out at 75fps almost all the time. It's the map, not my machine.

This map is strange for me. Sometimes it runs great and sometimes I have lag. It is most noticable when a flag is being capped. I know a lot of people complain about it. Even with problems this is still one of the best maps. The visuals are unmatched in any other map. I have a good machine so perhaps problems could be server side. I'll have to pay attention which server I am on.

Well might be something wrong with your system. I've got a 2-year old amd 2600+ 1gb ram and a ti4200 and it runs decently well even in the city. Always got more than 10fps. Slight trouble using bombers to precision bombing over city though, but that is someting i also have over orel and i especially had in old prohorovka.. might care to check your sound settings

Not everyone got enough money to buy a new comp every year or to call a 6600 or 9800 its own. Some FH maps run great and other don't. Eastern Blitz is a very complex map. There are many errors someone could make or you have to think about while creating a map (wich doesn't mean the author of Eastern Blitz is a bad mapper) wich causes the game to be a single picture slide show. Its hard to find the balance between a great looking map and a playable map. Even on my PC (A64 3400+, 1GB RAM, X800XT-PE) Eastern Blitz is not fluent everytime (well..with highest detail level roll%20eyes%20%28sarcastic%29.gif) thats nor important for me... One year ago i had a P3 with 512mb ram and a geforce2....i know what @BrokenHeart is feeling...

i think reducing the size of the city (that is, actually deleting that part of the map. not just making it out of bounds) should really help my AMD64 3200+, 1gb DDR400 & 6600GT has a challenge on it....but i guess thats coz ive got the highest settings, sound & resolutions..
