Due to tank’s design its spotting capability was greatly limited during WWII. It relied on tank commanders standing high on commander copula to survey the field with the help of telescope. To simulate the reality I have an idea to be shared with your guys. Once the player(s) hops into a tank he or they can only see his/their own tank in the small map, not one single friendly unit. When the gunner aims, the targeted object gives only name of player but not the color. It forces the tank commander to use given telescope to identify the approaching objects (I think that more than 90% of tank commanders don’t use telescope in current FH games). It will minimize the chance to steal enemy tank too To help the tank crews to distinguish friendly troops from enemy units we add some "identifying commands" to the game. When the tank crew(s) clicks on the command, his/their teammates will see a flashing image on the small map. They can click on a response command to echo the questioning. For example when a tank commander spots a tank approaching he clicks on the identifying command if it is a friendly tank he sees a flashing on the small map he responds with the command such as "hold your fire dude." If it is an enemy tank it will show nothing on the small map. I know that it is hard to make or can’t make at all but I think that it is fun to have it if it is possible. Any comment?

THe only 2 person system Iv like is DCr's, which is cool but I would not want it for fh. I think tank warfare is a important highlight of the mod, and would err on the aint broke don't need fixing approach. (just slow gradual changes, such as different shell types for example but leavein every thing else the same). As for that system i dunno how the heck you would code all that (as you say), but if it was I think its overly comlicated and would probaly quite annoying to use in game. It would makes tank very awkard to actually use, both from getting people to actually crew these posistons (or at least it has in my experience with split command tanks), and having to go through a bunch of clicking any time they wanted to kill something.

I don't know if FH can do this or not so it's not specific as a request to this mod, but as a tanker, what I want out of my tanking experince is the ability to use the commanders copula in whatever tanks have them. I would also love to be able to open my hatch and look around with binoculars. This would really open things up for me as far as not only spotting enemy movements but locating good locations for me to put my tank and sit.

Does anybody know if something like this is possible to do in FH. I know the Stug has a copula position, but what about looking around from the top of the tank and using binoculars?

If you can open up the hatch then the infantry men should be able to open up the hatch and throw grenades into the tank. :)

It would be cool if you could drive the tank from the tank commanders position (3 spot), but not be able to actually fire the gun (its primary purpose would be to spot artillery, and have a clear view). It would cut down on many of the ambushes that occur as the tank travels towards the frontline.

Also, in the case where someone is operating the turret, and someone else is in the tank commander position, the person operating the turret should ALWAYS HAVE FULL CONTROL. The tank commander's ability to drive the tank would only work if the main position is empty.

having that black area under that hatch be extra vunerable would be kinda cool. I recruit snyders mod collections did open and cloasable tank hatches. I dunno about infantry opening it though, as if it was closed, it could be locked closed.

Comrade0RedEveryone locked the hatch if it was closed.

if they buttoned up, sure locking it would be smart as they would stop it being opened. However, everyone im pretty sure everyone did not always lock it everytime they shut it. If they wanted to just look out realy quick, but still stop fragmentation or nades coming in etc it would be easier not to lock it shut every time it was pulled closed.

hi all...i am [MyORC] ROnaLD from Hong Kong~first reply in this forum^_^ back to topic~~ i have been thinking about this long time ago,and i'm glad to see that somebody has the same idea ^^ i think FH should disable the tank crews to have F10,F11 and F12 views!(these views are useful but nonsense:@) i suggest that every tank should add a position for tank commanders, but not like the stu3g that one..i think the tank commander shuold have his head exposed and can use binoculars on the seat... will it be possible on FH?_?
