i think i'd be good for mortars, but for larger arty, FH should try to code their arty like Dcon's.

i only agree with range meters, it provide realism(since the crews are trained...)

a crosshair is too abstract for a artillery

while not letting it overpowered

Well commander arty in bf2 ruined the game for me.Commander having free rein over arty,totally unrealistic.I know not everyone likes snipers but they do have there place.I hope the commander or whatever system they use cannot spot a drop arty on what ever they feel.It is after all wwII.As the aiming system should be spotted and called in by soldiers as in red orchestra and cod. ;)

What if scouts with binoculars out could "spot" the artillery impacts? So a spotter could call artillery, the artilery crew would be given an indicator on the map as to where the shots need to be fired. A rough range indicator on the guns would allow the crew to get the basic range.

However, the spotter would have to continue watching the area with binoclulars to give the arty crew an indication of were the shells were actually landing(via automatically placed marks on the map) and would fine tune aim from there.

Jetro thats a great idea.. so that you have to be a team to make it work.. by the way.. a good motar gunner kan hit a target at a radius at 20 meters.
