Anlushac11I am making my maps so that their is something for everyone.
Infantry, tanker, A/T, artillery, fighters, bombers, open country, city, etc.
I think too may maps just focus on one aspect. When their is something for everyone its more fun.
Im not that great at inantry and I find Pavlov and Stalingrad kinda boring but I still play them.
I think otherwise.
Those kind of maps remind me of Vanilla ones.. Kharkov... bah. I like the maps as they are now, seperate types of battles. Something for everyone. Besides, there are no extreme maps like plane only maps. What you are suggesting would turn out into a Prokorovka (why in gods name would one choose such a complex map name??) map, it lags quite a bit.. and the action, is always nowhere to find. Two infantry men in the bit city racing for the other flag once the other is capped, until they meet after a half an hour, lonely tank meetings, which always turn out typically; the strongest tank wins.
Planes? Well, you can't turn your wing around or your ass is being whooped by AA.. and when you go high.. well how would one find a target, if any on huge maps? Infantry... hmm, never seen infantry support for any tanks. Kinda obvious, since the walking distances to other flags are ridiculous (like vanilla Gazala) At, oh yeah, the AT guns are always in greater numbers than men (usually twice or three times as much). Artillery.. first you need someone who can spot a target for ya, and keep it. Usually he dies 20 seconds after the request. Well, what would you do? Waste a half an hour, just sitting there, and spotting over and over again?
That's why you'd want to keep things "seperated".
First off The map name is called Prokhorovka because...THATS THE NAME OF THE RUSSIAN TOWN CLOSE TO WHERE THE BATTLE WAS FOUGHT.
If you cant find action on Prokhorovka then your not fighting at the right spots. Unless server is small or less than half full I never have problems finding targets.
Just because people dont use certain parts of the game does that mean it should be removed? I never have a problem getting artillery support on Berlin Outskirts. I have seen pleny of people use the mortar or Hanomag Zu Fuss on Gold Beach and have spotted for them.
If we go by your theory why bother putting up MG's or mortars or artillery? Why stop there why not remove airtcraft since their just going to get shot down?
The point is if someone one wants to go artillery, infantry, tank, or aviation its there to use. Dont deny people opportunities to play different parts just because you dont like it. Think beyond what you want and think about what would be good for the FH community.
Not everyone jumps on the artillery on Bocage but when your sides down and you have to keep the enemy pinned down it seems someone always jumps on the Howitzers or the Nebelwerfers or the Hanomag Zu Fuss and keeps the enemy pinned down til help arrives.
I think that if a place was fought in the real life with only infantry make the map only with infantry, if the battle was fought with many tanks and planes, make then with many planes and tanks
OT, but Prokhorovka is a map that could REALLY use a semi-push style. Don't let the city be taken until everything else is, or something like that. It would concentrate the fighting into less areas.

Indeed. I often catch myself singing "this is the map the never ends" on that map, and on FW. Of course, I then have to beat the shit out of myself for being an idiot.
Yeah mate, its only a suggestion. OK, its a really stupid suggestion, but just a suggestion all the same.
