I was going to make this thread sooner but i forgot about it, untill today when i found myself on both sides of the MG42 on seelow hights. I can see the logic in having the german "support" class the same way as all their nations have theirs, in hand, ready to use. But I think its getting rediculous, while it has an obvious fix.. These MG's are simply to good in close quarters combat, and even when used crouched you can blow everyone away as long as you prone for a sec after every burst. My suggestion is to code the mg42/34 in such a way that they cant be fired when standing, or even crouched. Perhaps do the same for the Bren and Type99 if there are no records of them being used standing without a rigid support. The Bar seems to have been sort-off used like an assault rifle, but im not sure.. For the sake of realism, look at this. Sure the ammount of people one of those mg guys can take down from close by is limited. But its still rediculous when some-one jumps me with a 4, starts hopping around while firing.. and kills me even after i put a carbine round in his chest.
I think youre just bitter, and well you were gonna die anyway, get a SMG and than youll be well suited for CQC
That carbine accident is months ago, its not the only time it happened. Anyways, i dont want to be well suited for CQC. I want MG-monkeys to stay in their place, behind the assaulting troops, "supporting".
Every soldier didnt have a smg or mg, I agree with this suggestion it is getting rediculous.
I would ask all weapons not able to be fired without support, not be able to be fired without support. That's why you can have MGs deployable w/ pickup, sure you have infinate ammo, but oh well, you have to recycle to take advantage of it (thus a vulnerability). Mg34s, 42s, 30 cals should all be the same. A quick sec of setup time before firing, with 2 options for placement, prone bi/tripod, crouched support tripod.

at most, i would support a class limit. But i mean come on, if the enemy is at a distance and you have a a rifle its nearly fair game. if its at a medium range, you should be looking around playing it safe anyway. up close, you were gonna die anyway
They could make more spawnable GPMGs droppers, and not weapons. That'd be nice, ensuring those that want to support their troops with strong MG fire are rewarded and those wanting an lautomatic cannon class are unable to get it.

I dont get you, you are aware FH is a realism mod right? Do you think a german carrying a mg42/34 around would be able to engage enemy troops with it while running and jumping? What is this "you were going to die anyway" stuff? All these heavy(er) mg's should be deployable kits, like the .30 cal so should the mg series. as suggested before
Just take them out.
Not only are they unrealistic, but they are a total pain in the arse. Just restrict MG42's and MG34's to deployable and static versions.
No more of this dolphin dive crap. It takes loads of atmosphere out of the game. Why the hell people do it is beyond me.
Just make the spawnable MGs deployable: problem solved.
