Ok. I know this is like one of the biggest features in BF2..but I think my idea would make the game lots better.

I know we have all been through it, you're about to cap a base, when suddenly someone appears, and wammo! N00b101[Knife]Wali

So here's my idea:

At small outposts, do not allow people to spawn there, teams can only control it. Units may only spawn at main bases/ large bases/ air craft carriers...ect.

Pros: No Unrealisticly huge armys suddenly appearing at tiny outposts right next to the enemy main; Makes teams work harder on the defensive; makes people have to come up from the rear, not just appear.

Cons: Could be irritating to people with short attention spans; could cause lack of offensives.

There's a few maps in RtR that had non spawnable flags. Attacks aren't so bad to muster, but defense tends to be a joke. 2-3 guys at a flag that are easily bombed out and one just rolls in unapposed.

Only one map in RtR, Salerno, had an unspawnable base.

And because it was a heavily defending crest of a hill, it lead to excellent fights.

Salerno yep, liked that map though, made attacking that flag more intense, and gave you an extra adrenaline rush compared to other flags. And it made staying alive longer more worthwhile. As you mentioned; the biggest problem is making it not be boring and tedious. What made the Salerno map work IMHO: - other flags close to the unspawnable one - no other flags on the map, all focus to that one (and the 2 close ones) - no advantage to either team in terms of distance, safer road to it, vehicles It could work if you can get enough guys to defend it/them and have a general focus on it, if it has a big importance or if it's a choke point. Now that I think of it, it could be very interesting on rush maps, but hard to pull off. I guess we won't know for sure before it has been tested and proven in FH. :)

Another possible Pro would be that it could require the need for Troop Transporting. Idk bout that one though. Fh2 would need to make the trucks or halftracks a tad funner to be in.

It is already possible in Bf42 and is possible in Bf2. But I would use it very rarely. First it works only in a map wich has same, not very big distances from both teams main bases. It also requires vehicles to not make it boring because of 5 min walk and 1 sec death. Next it won't work on a map with more than 1 cp where you can't spawn. It would be too hard to get sufficient action for a good game. I used it in one cp on my map, only for one team to balance this certain point. And this is how it should be used imo.

I dont like the idea, but if you realy wanted it, how about making the spawners spawn a lil awafrom the flag instead of right on top of it...

There's not a problem with that. It is already done like this in most of FH maps, esepcially push mode.:p
