My advice is to roll back your drivers to about 45.xx

young Obi-WanHi I downloaded the latest nVidia Driver Pack (ver. 53.03), and installed it, hoping it would improve the performance of my GeForce TI 4200 AGB 8x however, the framerate didn't change. so far, no problem, but when booting and starting windows, when loggin in, there is allways a short black flash on the screen. the screen is black for like 0.3 seconds, but that's irritating. should I install my previous driver again or search other drivers or shoudl I just not give a fuck about it?

:uhm: I also dl'd those same drivers, the Forceware 53.03 set and haven't yet installed them. My pc is very similar to yours, (I've got a GeForce4 ti 4600 128MEG card) but have NOT yet installed them. You didn't get the performance they're supposed to give? What a bitch. Did you make sure to uninstall ALL the older Detonator drivers? I know of a good utility called NFR or Nasty File Remover made just for this purpose. It will remove all remnants of any of those old drivers. You can grab it for free here. http://rudz.frac.dk/modules.php?op=modload&name=Diner_Wrapper&file=index&req=ShowFile&file_wrap=html/nfr.htm or maybe here too: http://rudz.frac.dk/index.php let me know how everything works out for you. Good luck my brethren, bongoken ps. I've attached a "read me.txt" so you can read about it before dl'ing :deal:
