I was just wondering if i was possible to create such maps where like say the 101st got dropped into france and they have captured a town over the rhine. Say then there were static arterally guns where they fire every 15 seconds or what ever onto city in random places. While the germans (with like 2 light tanks, a tiger, hanomags and them little bike things with the mgs on the back... there on gold) while the city covered with patches of thrown up defense (captured mg42 outta broken walls, stunned hanomags that cant move but you can use the machine gun, panzerfaust kits laying around) the allies objective to destroy the arterally batteries while the germans have to destroy the bridge. Id like to have the mgs in like good spots too, not in crummy spots where they are in the storm. I really wanna bring the atmosphere to the map. Would this be possible and if the team wont i will and who would like to help?

its possible, but focus on what really happened. objective maps are nice, and seeing how battles were not about capturing small flags and letting guys pop out of the earth there, objective maps should be more common, much more common.

BTW: It was the 17th A/B that jumped accross the Rhine, but even then, the Remeagen (sp? meh...) had been captured. The High Command was going to use the 101st, but went with the 17th because they had never had a combat jump.

If you have played HL: Day of defeat, they have nice objective maps (just for example) Those are small objectives like destroy some artillery or radar, etc. Call of Duty has some too.

Since FH have maps with more emphasis on infantry combat that would be cool.

But i think for large maps in FH with tanks/planes then you need objectives like destroy/capture a tank factory or whatever. ill leave the historical speculations for the WW2 wizards..

Ofcourse BF simulates this sortof with flags in bases wich alow you to capture respawn points for vehicles, but its not very realistic. just my thoughts..

Objective maps create such a different dynamic for the map. I really like them and would love to play lots more also. There're aren't enough, and the rush for only flag spawns constantly grows a bit stale hour after hour, month after month.

I agree....but we must have some kind of tank battle. And as mentioned above, BF is famous for large maps...

BoB is a nice objective map...but it concentrates on the airforce. If we could have some ground action...maybe...

Anyway, I guess we should be satisfied with 0.65 for the time being.

EoD has a map called "Run through the jungle". There the US-Special Forces have to destroy 4 VC Flaks spread out in the jungle.

This could also work pretty well in a D-Day Map. Say the 101st droppes into Normandie, similar to Crete and has to destroy 4 88mm guns. Make it a mix of Band of Brothers Episode 2 and 3 and add in some nice city combat.

I would like to see an objective map where one of the teams has to destroy ONE out of a number of targets in order to win. or each objective has a number of points. in order to win you have to have a certain amount of points.

ie: critical amount of points: 100 radar = 30 train (with tank columns) = 35 bridge = 40 air port = 60 factory = 70

so if you destroy the radar, the train and the bridge you win. or if you destroy the factory and the radar.

don't know how this could be implemented, though. the first request, though stands.
