Ok guys, time to brainstorm. FH must divert from the standard BF42 flag grab style. This mod has the potential to be something totally different. It doesnt look or feel like BF, but the basic goals and strategies of achieving them still exist. Forgotten Hope needs to take advantage of the objective style gameplay to truly distinguish itself (gameplay wise, not visually or creatively- its already achieved that ;) ). Post your objective map ideas (try to stick to history, but some what-if scenarios would be cool too), and hopefully some mappers and devs might take note. ------------------------------------------ Here is my idea (David Stirling style :cool: ): SAS Raid SAS commandos must raid a German airfield (LARGE) in the African desert. The map should be at night, and the objectives should include fuel tanks, planes (hangared), runway, or armor. The Germans would have the advantage of being on the defensive, thus the British would have to use speed and concealment to their advantage. An airfield in the style of the one in Breakthrough would do nicely as there are only a few possible entries. Give the Germans a tank or two, perhaps a hanomag as well. They should also have the advantage of fortified defensive positions such as MG nests, watchtowers, bunkers, and barbed wire. The British should only recieve SAS jeeps, Opel trucks, and maybe a halftrack. The satchel charges, needed to destroy the objectives, should not be spawn kits but rather pickup kits located at the British main. The British main could be a small encampment far in the desert. Keep the map fairly large and open so the SAS have the advantage of advancing from whichever direction they choose (or many directions, to keep the Germans on their toes). To keep the German tanks from raping the British spawn, a valley should lead from the Allies camp into the rest of the map, and it should be blockaded by hedgehogs. Allies win if all targets are successfully bombed, Axis win if they can hold off the raid for a certain amount of time.

Sounds nice !

First I´d suggest making Bombing the Reich a proper Objective Map.

I´d like to see an objective based map set on D-Day during the Airborne Invasion.

The layout would be similar to Crete except for the Normandie setting at night. The Allies start of from an Airfield at the edge on the map with 3 C-47 as mobile spawnpoints.

They have to fly over the mission area and bail out. The objective would be to take out 5 Flak 8.8cm cannons. Additionaly the Paratroopers can capture a small french village (maybe St. Mere Eglise) and a farmhouse surrounded by fields so they dont have to respawn in the planes. The fields are covered by plenty of Vierlings spead out over Normandie. The 8.8 Flaks are protected by a trenchsystem and some MG-42 nests. The terrain would be a typical Normandie setting similar to Goodwood. The germans also have some Ostwinds and mobile Vierlings in the village aswell as an outpost a bit further away from the action. There they also have a 2 Hanomag, a Kubelwagen aswell as a Stug3G and a Panzer 4 H. We might aswell toss in a Nebelwerfer or two for Artillery support.

I know this is a common request and not very original, but still I mss a decent Airborne Assault Map.

Objective maps for FH this is a great idea, not just for existing maps but also new maps. You have my support on that cheers. :beer: Oh i forgot map ideas for objective games, firstly let me say special ops missions like youve both suggested are excellent ideas. Id like to throw another into one into the hat: Battle of monte Cassino I never liked the map done in RTR this battle was one of the most hard thought of the second world war. The germans defensive positions were perfect, The battle for the bombed out town below monte cassino resembled the hell of stalingrad. This town was very hard fought for, and you must take this as your first objective. However the artillery positions above overlooking the town must be taken out or you wont get very far. Then you must fight your way up the hill through the increasingly tough defences of the germans. Then finally you must fight the germans in the ruins of monte cassino and clear the way. The germans could also have the objective of defending the positions and parachuting in reinforcements to hold the line.

I would love to see more objective maps included in FH in an attempt to bring more flavor to the already great mod! :)

a good idea for a map in my opinion would be pearl harbor. it would have an ocean half way around a huge island with two air craft carriers for the japs. They will have the basic zeros and achvilles with torps and bombs. for the americans though they would have like 2 huge battleships and a couple destroyers and patrol boats. i know wat ur htinking...tkae the ships and go destroy the carriers..no. the the island should be half cuit off so the ships cant exit because the exit is off the map and they will die if they go in the red zone. also the island should have soem citys and a air field with liek 2 or 3 planes preferably wild cats. i think the only defect i kno wbout this map is haveing jap landing craft coming ashore but nothign u can do to stop stuff like that. well thats my map i hope u liek it:naughty:
