Like sbdy said - Artillery is queen of battlefield - imho in FH 0.7 there are too few players who are willing to man the arty pieces and fire them to given coords. I suggest this for FH2: offboard artillery - but not everyone could call it - lets say only "supreme commander" (the highest commander in team) could do so - and squad commanders could radio him arty request and he would choose one request and pass coords to offboard arty; or he could call counter-battery fire; Who would fire the arty ? - computer; he gets coords and fires (but it shouldnt be point-precise) If its basicaly possible to be done, it would be done very quickly since there are no models, no animations and no textures to be done.

Thats pretty much exactly how vanilla Bf2 has it set up. I'm not sure if the devs are going to keep it this way or not.

There is a sticky here: http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=233469

Has links to posts from devs explainingt the plan for FH2. It also has the section of how the devs envision FH2's artillery.

And yes, what you described is exactly how current BF2's artillery works. Oh and BTW, give me my arty on Nordwind, Stallingrad or Karellia and i will "man the arty pieces and fire them to given coords" during the whole round :naughty: Just ask around :naughty:

Correct Hydra. FH2 will feature a combination of remote artilery pieces controlled by the commander (BF2 style) and (static/mobile) artillery pieces operated by players (BF1942/FH1 field guns style).

Why limit yourself to one option if you can use the best of both? :naughty:
