There is another way to do this though. Have a very short round, say 7-10 minute like in americas army.
The current maps would not works so well as smaller maps would be needed probaly about foy or sector 318. The score would be equal to the number of players. Flags could remain but be flipped very quickly.
A better spec mode options such as free cam would be good to give too ppl could watch the game better

He isnt saying implement it into every map in the mod, he was suggesting special maps or gameplay styles.
given the long loading time of some guys, this whole short round thing would royally blow.
True, USMA. Most servers run a map once, then switch to another. Unless they can make it so that these special maps run a few times before changing, i dont see it being practicle.
I can imagine how many players will lose that 1 life by running down a flight of those nasty stairs!!!
on the sever i am pretty sure they well make it so it goes 3 time or 2 times if not who ever is running sever is a moron all i gotta say....
It would prevent charges. I don't know about you. But I quite enjoy joining a tank coloum and rolling about happily. People would all be piss scared to take any chances, and it would feel like a commando game. Everyone would be going off the side and hiding.

A slight-variation of this would be cool. I think it would be pretty tight for a D-Day paratrooper map or something. The allies spawn in 2 C47's, human controlled. ONce everyone is in, they start to go. Once everyone gets out, they crash obviously. You simply have ot make do with what troopers make it to the ground until you capture a town (reinforcements). This would promote assembling with your fellow troops and simulating the effects of the killed/lost troopers on DDAY. Once you cap a flag, it's game on and the allies get a spawnpoint, which they can of course lose again. Thus, losing the match (failed invasion objective).
