IMO, I don't think this is totally a bad idea on 1 condition. New maps specifically for this type of objectif. The current FH maps are not suited for 1 life or anything but honest to God, I would love to have some "Coral Sea" with the ppl having only 1 life (but everyone has to go in an airplane). And when everyone from a team is dead, the game restarts and here we go again!!!

Seriously, it could be fun. But there shouldn't be too much diversity so.. either everyone has a tank or airplane or whatever.

bad idea. Best thing you can do is ask an admin or own a server and reset the respawn times longer. You wouldnt only have 1 life but with a lengthy respawn time you would play more catiously, Anyways though I aint really much for the idea of lengthy respawn or only 1 life. Perhaps when bf2 comes out even if respawn times are short you would more than likely have to take much longer trips to get to the front thus less hesitent to jump out into enemy fire

It just wouldn't work for regular maps. You can't say "well, it works in (insert modern warfare game here)". WW2 was a war in which, even if you had a US vs. Iraqi-style matchup, the winner is still gonna take a pile of casualties. Not like modern warfare, where it's rare for a high-tech winner to take more than double-digit casualties in a battle.

well, it has to be maps that are specifically tailored for it! obviously! but if it is done right it will be fun, and the FH-devs have done things "right" in the past, so why not again?

even if we get a lot of beautiful maps, if they're basically the same with different map positions it won't be able to keep it's playerbase for long. we need diversity. different ways of thinking in different maps, and it has to be big enough differences to be obvious.

just upping the spawn-time is not enough - it doesn't change the way people think, only the way they play.

I would'nt mind seeing a mode where each player gets three lives, the rounds would be shorter and played three times per map. It would give you the cautiousness of limited lives, progress as you attrit the enemy, and 2 out of three rounds would win. Of course you would limit the vehicles also. One or two spawns per vehicle, so they are not used in rambo or disposible fashion. It would be interesting to try.

I have an idea for a level where each person only gets one life. Instead of tanks and planes everyone should get a car with machine guns on the top. The actual level would be like a race track with all these cool jumps and stuff. Also, there would be a blimp and signs talking about Jebus.

Heh, i was gonna say that specific "commando" maps might be cool, but my boss snuck up on me and I panicked :D

I can imagine this mod would be for pure infantry combat - we'll have battles over small towns such as Carentan or Foy. For obvious reasons, it wouldn't work on maps like Omaha, though.

APCs in FH are very usefull weapons in FH on some maps. Ppl who played Vanilla BF may not have recognized this in FH. The Mg gunners are better covered and the MG itself is useful (not like the worst implementation MGs have seen in recent game history: BF1942)

On maps like Charlie one APC can make THE difference. Fast paced players tend to ignore the support of this vehicle when it comes to ammo, health, covering fire and cover from enemy fire on open fields.

When teamplay is aplied (esspecially on infantry heavy maps) APCs are very valuable units. (but most ppl use the tanks and don't apply any teamplay.)
