Dukat;4588764Obviously people are replacing ingame communications by Voip, undermining the developers intention of limited vertical and horizontal communication. What a success for the team.

Huh? I rarely experience that people use VOIP for some reason.

Everyone remember the hand-eye coordination argument for the enabled crosshair?

I always thought that it was a good point, as on a screen we cannot feel the 3D environment like IRL.

It's the same for a compass. The grids are OK to tell a plane where a vehicule is going, but ain't sufficent for an accurate and fast warning among your squad mates (if you have some squad members spread all over the map, 1) you don't care about warning them about everything as they're useless, 2) just kick'em from the squad - I use to play gathered with the other squad members, otherwise a sqaud seems pointless).

So, in a real environment :

- You would be able to know who is who in your squad, hearing their voices, knowing their faces and silhouettes, and where they are around you - You would also be able to name a place more accuratly than on a 2D screen, or at least point a direction with your arm.

That's why a compass system would recreate the natural orientation feeling, with way more accuracy than the minimap and the grid coordinates.

Sire_Apple;4586183Haha. I have no clue exactly what it says. I asked my Dutch friend to translate what I said into Dutch.

Me neither, but I take everything written in dutch as swearing due to a well known character.

Sire_Apple;4585968Waarom zou ik mijn tijd verspillen aan het leren van Nederlands, als ik mijn tijd al verspil aan Duits. :p

Den mochten wir in Deutsch weiter reden. Yes I know, my German grammar is worthless  Oh and J_Fin, konijnen dansen in het veld.

That's because Dutch is a Hagenees (From The Hague) and they have a natural born tendency to swear ....... a lot! :D

On topic Is it just me or is the FH community growing more and more mature. I had a row of really excellent game where lots of teamwork was involved. Yee for us:smokin:

Yeah you're right there are really often nice teamwork, and we use to see less arcadey individual behaviors (dolphin crap and such)... We are not thousands, but we are smart and skilled, we're the elite over the average FPS masses :p

I've noticed that in the afternoon/morning the older people are usually at work, and most players are a bit younger and aggressive to each other in the chat. Not much tking, vehicle stealing or something like that though..

And in the evening all the regulars get on the server, making it much more "teamwork-ish" and enjoyable...
