I was thinking that the role of the "Combat Engineer" is somewhat fictionalized and limited in the scope of BF/FH. Here is my idea to rectify this. Why not create a special truck (use the standard GMC/Opel) that has the abilty to deploy certain defensive structures. There are six positions in the vehicle, and each should have the ability to create a different item (sandbags, barbed wire, dragons teeth, hedgehogs, small MARKED minefields, etc). Each item would be drawn from a communal ammo supply in the vehicle so that the number of items deployed would be limited. Also, each position in the vehicle should have a type of crosshair to indicate approximately where the item would be placed, and if possible a deploy timer that would vary with the item being constructed. The deployed structures should stay for a long time, and only should be able to be destroyed by using the explosive satchels. Thus, both offensive and defensive roles of the combat engineer are put to use. What do you think? Suggestions are welcome. smilie.gif

I suggested this for Galactic Conquest, too. I'd like to see it done. So far, the troop plane drops ammo crates and the APC drops a fixed MG. Why not elaborate on that:smokin:? Except it'd take a butt-load of work, of course.

I want to see deployable AT guns. Fixed static AT guns are deathtraps once you memorize where they are. If the guns could be deployed anywhere, then it would make them a lot more of a serious threat.

Half tracks and trucksshould deploy those, like WWIIOL.

Yeah Pushable AT guns are NOT deployable at guns. Pushable = too slow to get anywhere before the map ends. Deployable can be set up somewhere and have time to do its work. Pushable artillery like in bf1918 is useless.

Halftracks and trucks SHOULD deploy AT guns where appropriate. That makes sense.

Might not be that useless, can help get a clearer shot by exposing you just a lil more.

I dunno about pushable artillery and AT guns being useless. There are plenty of hiding spots for guns in FH (In Europe and Asia anyway), and a lot of them exist near flags. One of the most effective ways to use an anti tank weapon is to wait until the target gets so close it's impossible to miss. How bout deployable CAMOFLAUGED guns? :naughty:

The devs said that they are working on pushable/pullable/deployable arty. What do you think about the original suggestion, though?
