Well the maps are bigger, and they're not. They may be the same "size", but due to scaling realistically and true proportions for everything, the maps play and feel a whole lot larger. That and they are spawled over much larger areas. So it is really possible to have one segment of the map concentrated on the beach landing while farther inland is dense jungle combat.

And BF2 features a VERY well-done vegetation system, so forests actually feel like forests now.

I think the fan map packs are great. I really enjoy them. More Pacific maps would be wonderful. Anybody remember Tulagi Island? I got to play it once. Wolf refuses to run fan map pack because they say it is not part of official release. Even though it is the official fan map pack. WTF?

Why would anyone bother to make maps anymore when no servers will run them? Look at the last map pack release. Never played. No servers run the maps. You guys should make Wolf run map packs instead of Bocage. :nodding:

FactionReconAnd BF2 features a VERY well-done vegetation system, so forests actually feel like forests now.

Unfortunatelly it doesn't. BFV had a great vegetation system. The only drawback of that was the "disappearing grass" (which, i will repeat for the 99999th time is a map-settings! you can make the grass not to disappear at all). BF2 also has the same "disappearing grass", but lacks the otherwise great BFV vegetation system. Have you seen BF2's "jungle"? They put 8 bamboo sticks together, and gave them all 1 cylindrical colision mesh, so you can't even go through them (even though there is enough space to let the fatest marine through)

But it looks nice. And the devs can edit the collision meshes anyway.

Well, BF2 already puts a strain on mid-level computers, increasing the number of collision meshes (and like FH likes to do, maxing out the number of objects per map with extra trees), and who knows if the engine will handle it, or if it will start chocking. I am still puzzled why they didn't include the same overgrowth/undergrowth system as they had in BFV
