I am sure most of you have heard of this bridge. It is quite well documented (Stephen Ambrose). I suggest a map with the two bridges, the one over the Caen canal and the river Orne.

The D Coy of the Ox and Bucks (allies/british) will start in gliders above the map, they must be landed in the proper field, I am sure there is a way to do this. The german troopers, several different units will spawn at their main base in a corner or top of the map.

The field in which the gliders land should have a flag that once capped by the allies can't be capped by germans.

The several flags that are the bridges and their surroundings will be grey flags at the start of the map. This is because when the coup de main operation happened, the germans in the pillbox near the bridge were taken out efficently by grenades and the sentries on the bridge fled.

This flag arrangement will allow the glider troops to have the same element of surprise, so to speak, as they did in the real thing. By the time the bridges are capped, the german troops should be close to arriving. Also, When the bridge area is capped by the Allies, 3-4 panzer4s should spawn in the axis main base and a para spawn point should appear on the opposite side of the river that the glider troops landed. This para spawn point will represent 7 para who dropped in to relived D Coy.

This is my basic idea and if anyone would like more information about the actual bridge surrondings, houses, gun emplacents, trenches etc. I can look them up, but they are very well documented.

Any comments?

Devs,

Could you please reply seriously to this suggestion. Would you guys be interested in actually making this map?

Regards,

Moldie.

I know there is a really high-poly Pegasus Bridge model that's done, but i am not sure if anyone is making a map for it.

Someone could dig up the pictures of that model

I would map it myself, but I can't get the same atmosphere that the FH maps have.

BG42 has a nice (seemingly realistic) Pegasus Bridge map.

Although I´m not so enthusiastic about a Pegasus Bridge map I would like to see some sort of D-Day Airborne Landing map.

Something slightly inspired by BoB, BiA and MoH.

Maybe and objective map with St. Mere Eglise and the Paratroopers having to take out 5 Flak 88 Kanons.

I like the idea of that map. This map rocks in Call of Duty and you could take the COD one as an example for the FH one. And Dee-Jay your map idea sounds cool too :)

If you want ur Pegasusmap to be totally realistic then u should just copy the map from CoD. I've been at the Pegasus bridge in real life, and it's completely identical to the CoD-level. Even the bridge, the cannon and the houses are really there. So if u want it to be realistic, copy the CoD-Map. Ow yeah, even the water looked exactly the same... I'm pretty sure the CoD dev-team has been there to take pictures and stuff. Best thing is that the bridge is bigger in reallife, but I found out that the one there is now is a new one, which is bigger then the one there was in 1944. That one is in a museum (in it's backyard, 20 meters from the bridge :P) and even that one is identical to the one in CoD. And please don't make the BF1942 mistake of placing the bridge near Caen, cuz it was at least 20 kilometers away from Caen... -.-

We have the Master Minder's map to finish it, it's pretty nice.
