in the FHT Tourney we had a member who would edit the Mini maps so our team knew where the ammo boxes were. It was really helpful, just a small yellow square where ammo is located. I don't remember which member of FHT did it, but it was relatively easy he said and helped a lot in game.
I say no on marking pick up kits, that would ruin the fun. Although it would be easy to set up an MG right where the special kit is located, because there would always be a constant flood of noobs going for it i bet.
tyrannicida;4197984On a side note, what is that kit for that only has a knife, a pistol and a band aid? (On maps like Sfakia, where there are no planes, so it can't be a pilot kit).
It's the medic kit; almost every map has one for each side. In case you didn't notice it has infinite bandages, so as long as you are alive you can effectively make your squad invincible.
They're secret kits for a reason ;) Experienced players know where they are and go to get them, while others dont. Just look around in a local server and find em ;P
I dont agree with the marking of special kits but I personally think a small unobtrusive marking of ammo on the mini map would be a good idea.

Heh, well, I actually did on Sfakia and Supercharge and I couldn't find any but medic and machine gun on the latter. :P
I didn't make it!
I kinda agree about the ammo boxes being marked. Your forces would likely tell you where to get more ammo if you ran out. It's unlikely that in a war zone you would be told "we have extra ammo but we're hiding it from you, if you can find it, good for you!".
Maybe put up some maps on FH.com that show the locations, and then not bother with em in the minimap?
Well, I had some time and checked out all the maps and looked for special kits and ammo.
I might upload screenshots of the locations in a couple of days. Sfakia has not one ammo crate apparently. And there are no ammo crates in the most southern axis building on Sidi Rezegh. :(
On a side note, could it be that Alam Halfa and Bardia were made by the same mapper? =p
It's a problem for me to find ammo also (why not? - everything else in FH2 is a problem for me ;)). If we don't mark the minimaps, could we treat the ammo like easter eggs and have folks tell us?
