Hello there. Now that the BF2 engine allows for longer draw distances in the original could the devs add air turbulence for when planes are flying at a certain height. This could be useful for spotting planes when they are flying out of range of the flak guns. More of a graphical that effect could be added would be the turbulence created when firing bullets from one plane to another as I have seen in footage from plane battles. I understand that these suggestions are more superficial than other suggestions based towards gameplay but I thought i would suggest them as it would be excellent to see some of these effects in the game and would make FH a step apart from other 1942 mods for BF2.

The top suggestion is when a plane's wing creates a low pressure zone, air gets colder at lower pressures, and creates a string of ice crystals floating in air aka contrails. As an atmospheric phenominon it happens at quite high altitudes (or at sea level for some 9G F-16 turns). If it can be coded would be nice.

When I think about it, it's harder to see something high flying in real life than in BF because it treats the air as perfectly clear. Dunno how possible "atmospheric depth" is in BF/BF2 to borrow an artist history glossary word.

I thought there already was a form of high-altitude turbulence (i.e. try flying up as far as you can go and see what happens)?

I think hes wanting contrails normally seen when B-17's cruised at 25,000t or higher and wingtip vortices like when a plane pulls a high G turn or pulls out of a dive in high humidity air.

I'll give him turbulence if he comes close enough.

Hmm, remember when the devs try to make it so multi engine planes could lose an engine but keep flying? ie. Damage specific areas? Could this be implemented in FH2?

Would be neat. Losing a left engine and having to rudder right the whole way.

Hmm, do you think in FH2 it would be possible to make a map based on a B17 daylight raid? Ok, start with a huge flat map dotted with trees and statics and what not, at the very north end of it, have a factory which is the target that needs to be destroyed. Also on the eastern side of the map have a german airfield where a couple of Me-109s would spawn periodically. Now at the very southern edge of the map have a 5 or 6 B-17s spawn in the air along with some Mustangs at a fairly high altitude but still in visual range of ground based AA. AA guns will be scattered throughout the map and the B-17s need to fly all the way across it to bomb their objective: the factory.
