Alright, after playing FH.7 for a while, something constantly bugged me, When im in a flameing plane thats going down, I should still have Rudder/Flap control. That way, It'd be possible to ' land ' if not, get down far enough to slide acrossd the ground and jump out.
Why not grab a pilot kit and not worry about having to land a plane ready to explode?

doubt its possible in the BF42 engine.
Otherwise they should have done something like this a loooong time ago..
The BF42 engine is not so sophisticated, when the plane is down in flames is still alive but the engine is disabled, nothing we can do about this
Good idea, but I don't think it's possible:(. What should be implemented, though, is a much smaller risk of planes exploding when their HP's reach the negative scale. As it is, landing doesn't help too much as you blow up before you can exit your plane anyhow:o.
While we're at it, a landing gear indicator and artificial horizon would be awesome, too. I hate having to guess if my gear is up or down when I'm on final approach:rolleyes:. The landing gear indicator could maybe actually be done, by having a disk in the cockpit that rotates when your landing gear goes up or down. See illustration.

To my knowledge, that's unrealistic. A lot of times machine gun rounds will tear up the cables that control the rudders and flaps. Not saying it happens each and every time, but it does happen.
One thing I don't like about the planes right now is that when you catch fire, you just stop. I think it would be nice if one could glide until they hit the ground.

Because im not a panzy bailer. I'd just like to have some legit chance of liveing, you know, mabey being able to make it too the water, and bail over that. Instead of over enemy territory.

Some of the FH1 planes have gear levers

How does flying a plane equipped like a pilot, and getting out to parachute down when your plane is toast (LIKE, I DUNNO, A REAL PILOT WOULD IF HE HAD THE CHANCE) make you a "panzy bailer"?
