hell, my idea takes that "radar" shit away. use it and you can still hide tanks. KSC, remember one thing, the german commanders did not use a mic. they had the thing that went on the neck, really good sound quality. later in war, they would simply yell targets down the hatch.

he should also be able to button up and down, that is to say he can close and open the hatch.

BAMthis idea sucks (if i have got it right) give radar to a spot in a tank it would take away all fun with hiding a tank .. and its not possible ot have more than 1 skin for 1 team on 1 map so no Tank commander class ..

No, it would simply making hiding impossible at close distances. Okay well, let's just scrap the radar idea. It would be simple to implement, but as I think about it, it would be unfair since you could "see" a guy who is hiding behind a building. What about the marking tanks with a fire command to give away their location? When a tank commander is in a tank, he can rotate his field of vision a full 360 degrees. He can "fire" at an enemy unit in his field of vision which makes the unit visible to everyone on the minimap as a blinking enemy unit and alerts the team via a voice command. This unit continues to blink either for a set period of time, or a certain distance from the original area he was spotted. As for the skins, someone asked so I told them. To eliminate an idea simply because a skin can't be specifically made is stupid.

A black beret with goggles and a nice big chunky badge in the middle would be fine.

I like the idea of the slow healing wrench.

Err couldn't you just use your external views to see things behind you?

All you have to do is this, make the AA machinegunner's secondary fire (I don't believe it's taken up by any function ATM) the target marker that shows up when the commander/AA gunner marks it (that was a very good idea BTW), and if the tank has no AA machinegun, just open up the hatch and let a commander sit there, even if it has no machinegun. But if this requires an SDK *quickie SDK jig* then c'est la vie untill the damn asshole goodfornothing, "why the hell should we make modder's jobs way the fuck easier" at EA and DICE make one.

This makes it more difficult to hide a tank rather than some dickhead simply sitting behind some trees at the main base picking off people as they exit.

noone even does that

The Stug3G has a commander position, that calls in arty strikes.
