The only time I have seen this weapon used is in DOD: S (also featured in Resident Evil 4) and it sure kicks ass, emptying a round in a split-second. Would like both versions of the Mauser included as a sidearm and an alternative to the MP40.

The C96 was only really used by rear echolon units by WW2. Its major use was in WW1, as a pistol/submachinegun, by the Germans. However, it would only warrent use in FH if there was an antipartisan map, which will be long in coming, if at all. I say no, focus on important weapons, like the MG34 and 42.

Well, you probly wont be seeing it a whole lot, but it is my favorate pistol of all time, so I'm sure it will show up somewhere. As has been stated, the c96 was pretty rare in ww2, mostly ending up in the hands of some elite SS troops.

The automatic version was VERY rare, and was made in spain. It also sucked, because its insane rate of fire made it extreamly innaccurate. You wont see the automatic version in FH. It worked much better as a pistol/carbine (with a scope and flash hider).

fun fact: the c96 is also han solo's heavy blaster pistol.

Then why not add in some of the Waffen Elite SS troops, they can be placed on maps that they fought on. I'm sure the devs don't mind about it :nodding:

In case nobody knows what the hell he's talking about, the Mauser C96 "broomhandle" is the classic German pre-WWI pistol, made in several variants, with the magazine in front of the trigger guard. Used by many nations, the name comes from the large wooden butt that clipped onto the grip (and also served as a holster.) More info:

Nice gun, if you've got about $5-10k USD to blow for a good condition WWI-era 9mm or 7.63mm with stock and presentation case.

Ok:

1. The Waffen SS are unlikely to appear 'officially' in FH due to the fact that the SS runes and affiliated symbols are banned in Germany. (Please don't argue with this, I don't want this to turn into some sort of discussion where people argue whether the Waffen SS was 'bad' or not).

2. It was still extremely rare even for the elite Waffen SS, considering the amount of vehicles and weapons that did see ALOT of usage in WW2, it just isn't worth it at the moment. Unless Mr. Gibs wants to do it ...

3. The Waffen SS didn't see action in Africa so it wouldn't make the first release anyway.

4. Boo @ weapon/vehicle suggestions - as I say in the other thread you made, the FH devs know which weapons saw service in WW2 :).

What was the most common version? The one with detachable magazine or the one that has to be loaded from the top with clips? And it's in Vietcong 2 too :p
