I know it's too early to talk about it, but wouldn't it be great if you could add in a "Point Du Hoc" map as part of the Normandy Campaign where it featured the US 2nd Ranger Battalion scaling up the cliffs and taking out the fortified six 155-mm artillery emplacements. Similar to BF2: Special Forces were you get to use grappling hooks, they would be fired off by rocket propelled mortors from the landing crafts instead of being thrown by hand. The reason why is because the hooks used were very heavy and just couldn't be thrown by hand over a hundred feet of wet cliff. I have only seen this map in COD 2 as sinple player mission but would also love to see it in FH2.

Don't mention CoD or the angry FH mob will come and get you! ;)

It's one of the most well known locations of WW2 so the devs surely know what it was about and thus when making normandie maps won't "forget" it. Wether they will make one or not... who know's? Personally I doubt it because theire are more important Normandy maps that have priority.

I think this was brought up awhile ago but im not too sure. Still, it would be an interesting map. I'd rather see a push map where the Americans have to defend their newly taken positions on Pointe Du Hoc against a fierce German counter-attack, quite like the second mission in the American campaign of CoD 2. It would be awesome fun in my opinion.

People need to ease the **** off from COD for once, i'm sick and tired of people bashing ideas because the suggestion is based on a COD map/function. The reality is that COD does alot of things right, and sometimes better than FH, fracking deal with it!

:uhoh:

I like the idea, could be alot of fun, moreso than the run-die, run-die Omaha maps.

It's the first time I agree with you, dear raptor, CoD rocks.

I have played with the idea of make the Point du Hoc map because I am sure other FH mappers more talented than me will create Omaha and I would like to make a D-Day landing map, but I am not sure how to make it so the allies can climb the cliff and not be slaughtered.

Yep that would be great!!!! Make two different variations of the map, one were the Americans invade the coastline and the other would be Germans making the counter-attack. The reason why I brought this thread up is the fact that Point Du Hoc is hardly ever featured/mentioned on any WW2 game (apart from COD2 which I apologize for saying).

The Charlie Sector map for Forgotten Hope was great, especially those huge bunkers.

I think there should be a map of each of the codenamed beaches of the Normandy landing operation, Gold beach, Juno beach, Omaha beach, Sword beach, Utah beach and Pointe du Hoc. The beach landing maps are always the best part of any WW2 game since they have the most intense firefights. I think all those maps would also help the mod become more popular. Just look how popular FH's charlie sector is.

There are sadly lots of battles to choose from no matter which theatre you choose.

Since the African theatre is first, it could be the invasion of Casablanca, perhaps? It was amphibious, as far as I understand it.
