Hi all,

I know it's been brought up over and over and over and over and over and over and over, but I just wanted to reheat the topic for anyone thinking about post-North Africa FH2 scenarios.

If you do any Fall Weiss-type maps, I'd really appreciate it if you could, kind mappers & devs, look into the possibility of adding a Polish armored train (even as a stationary unit on a forest branch line or something, if trains don't fly under the BF2 engine.)

I just think they look wicked cool, and they actually did see a fair amount of action:

Trains were even possible in Battlefield 1942 ( Surreal coded a working train ), however If they getted added I think it's just best to use them as a stationary object.

Perhaps a nice objective mission would involve Polish Troops trying to come to aid for there wounded Polish comrades, who are left to fend of German attacks one the from Locomotive got de-railed or destroyed.

Here is also a very nice site with information about Polish trains: http://derela.republika.pl/armtrain.htm

I remember seeing those train models on the main page. I always wondered why they were never in game. I personally would like to see some added even if its only to a custom map. You could get really interesting with it. Have a main base at the far side of a map and the spawns at the other end and the only way to quickly enforce your positions is with the train.... of course winners would just drive it off the map and all that fun stuff. :( BTW: That site is a GREAT READ! Thanks for posting it.

There's an interesting Wikipedia article I came across, about the Battle of Mokra -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Mokra

This'd make a great assault map scenario, as apparently the two sides were very evenly matched (it was one of the few major Polish victories of the war). Apparently, armored train No. 53 made a pretty big contribution, driving smack into the middle of two distinct fights and roughing up several German units pretty badly.

The more I read about the conflicts between Poland and Russia it makes me wish FH could throw a custom map its way. War with both sides using janky ass armored trains!:nodding:

Great Idea, I'd love to see it in objective mode!
