am i the only one tired of not being able to see anything on many of the maps? these include both polish maps, counterattack 1940 and several others that i am too lazy to think of. i guess im old fashioned in liking to see my enemy when they are standing in the open. but then again, i am a sniper so i need to see the sights on the scope.

i dont like dark maps either. u can never see the enemy unless their right in front of u, and u always die and never know how. however there is a sollution to this. turn up the brightness on your monitor ;) this might be considered cheating, but it sure does help.

In my opinion, they should either lighten up the maps like DICE does with its night maps, or code in flares and luminescent smoke grenades like EoD does with its night maps. As for the maps you mentioned, they are pretty light. If you can't handle it, turn off lightmaps.

What if you've got a naturally dark monitor? My one is too dark to even begin to play maps which are at night - it's actually pitch black.

If the night maps are pitch black, or if you can't even see well enough on daylight maps like eastern blitz something is wrong...perhaps it's time for a new monitor.

In BF2 it should be better once we get dynamic lighting.

On that note I personally like maps that are researched and based as close as possible on the real battle.

If the battle was fought in bad weather or poor lighting then I expect the map to recreate that atmosphere.

I dont like changing the historical facts because some people dont like dark maps.

Maps like counterattack and other western front maps are either to dark or light, grass looks like freaking neon when in the sun, and in the shadows its hard to see anything at all.

NEON!? Who said Neon?! MY NEON!!!:sillyme: lol

Something that I've been wondering lately is if spotlights are possible in BF. Spotlights were used extensively during the war for coordinating AA fire, as well as blinding pilots. They'd be perfect for Bombing the Reich, and maybe operation Blacknight.

Spotlights don't work because the engine doesn't support dynamic lighting. IIRC there is a spotlight way behind the front in one of the Overlord maps (correct me on this please), and it doesn't really work too well.

perhaps it could fire circular semi opaque white projectiles that dont do damage. It would be laggy, but they could be added to small maps, to lessen lag. I suppose bombing the reich is already laggy enough as is.
