I KNOW THIS SHOULD BE IN A DIFFERENT FORUM BUT I WILL GET MORE ANSWERS HERE **PLEASE DO NOT MOVE**

I have a few small probs...

1. I need to know how to change the thing on my Internet Explorer (see pic)

181978.php

It should say "Internet Explorer". Apparently when I d/l something not long ago, the maker decided to leave his tag on it. There must be a way to change it.

2. When I start up my comp. I get a message on my login screen. It says something like

"Message Detail: cannot find user... using default user..."

something like that. I will write it down next time. I think its a problem with a .reg but I have no clue...

THANKS

1. Go to Start, Run, type Regedit Go to Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main Modify/Create the Value Name [Window Title] Data Type: REG_SZ [String Value] - Value Name: Window Title Value Data: Delete that crap from there and put whatever you want or delete it Exit and Reboot computer

2. And did you upgrade to XP from another O/S, i.e. Me, 98?

i would check the msconfig from run and see what exactly is starting up in the startup tab. sounds like you have some sort of data mining software loaded on your computer

I know exactly what the problem is. You were probably downloading porn, which is fine cuz this is how it happened to me. And you downloaded a .scr file on accident and ran it.

well theres a new form of "virus" the scr files will run continuosly and close down these programs. ONly way to get rid of it from running is to find the process id and kill it then delete the file.
