A really cool and easy addition to FH would be to add a deployable raft to pilot kits. IE, when you bail out you can open parachute and drop your raft [like a mortar or tripod MG] and get in it when you hit the water. This would be awesome on pacific maps and would provide a choice versus suicide.

You would need to make it so that you cant pick it up again, though, unlike the mortars and MGs.... because that the rafts are selfinflating, and cant be reused. Also, so there wouldnt be the problem of "picking up" the raft just as you get close enough to get in it.

Ammo boxes could replenish rafts.

I am sure the majority of pilots had rafts and just so happened to bail with one that had a motor. /sarcasm I think the pilots are good how they are, powerless outside of their planes.

then dont give it an engine. It could be for the pilot to float around in until a ship or sub pulled up to rescue said pilot.

or collapsible oars... its not outside the realm of possibility, Especially in large bombers, who certainly had motor rafts for the crew

or maybe an inflateable bismark ~not but having a dinghy with collapsible oars would be great, animations would be pathetic though because of the 1942 engine

Battleifeld Pirates did a good job with oar animation, so it isnt impossible.

This would be a good idea, espiecilly if a PBY (or R-4 helicopter) were intorduced to pick up downed pilots.

A very slow moving raft would be great for pacific pilot kits, I myself have suggested this before. And PBYs too. :p I think all major sunken ships should spawn life rafts.
