if the grenade blows far from you and is not a lethal explosion, could we get some ragdoll animations but then keep up alive but injury? instead getting hit but stay on the ground, could be fun to get blowed but get up and keep up doing your job

If you were close enough to a grenade that it's explosion threw you, you were in lethal range.

Having a "getting knocked down by x shockwave" animation would be cool, especially if it was random, but.. its probably not going to work.

Not really, I think it was in BFV. Rather than the same old "arms and leggs flailing" animation that started every time you were blown away, in BFV you would react differently. Some times you wouldn't die, either....

Right now you get a blurry animation depending on how close you were to the impact ( to close resulting in damage and possibly death ), so you would already have that, still a knockdown animation would be pretty cool.

I remember that in BF:V you would slide over the ground in a horizontal manner like a puck on a hockey field, hardly realistic, and very silly to look at.

I agree. Grenades dont send people flying like you guys think. However would knock you down, if close enough. The grenade wouldnt really push you over, rather you would loose your balance from shock and fall. Or natural reaction would be to get down on the ground.

Well there are still lots of people who think handgrenates do explode like a small bomb and this not being aware that the only explosion it causes is that of shrapnel flying around. There probably would be some sort of shockwave though but I'm not sure if this would be enough to knock you of your feet. As Polska said if you were that close you would probably get a lethal amount of shrapnel in you.

But a knockdown animation where this is realistic would be cool, together with the already planned temporary blurry vision and aim being lost.

Uh Donuts, hand grenades _are_ a small bomb. The offensive-vs-defensive grenade discussion has been had pretty frequently, and while "pineapple"-type grenades do rely more on shrapnel, you are right there, they still pack enough explosives to turn your insides to mush or blow off a body part (death by trauma either way) if you're too close. No flying 30 feet in the air, but still.

Case in point: my pop once brought home a potato sack full (not kidding) of Swiss army practice hand grenades. These were basically your bog-standard German-style "potato-masher" offensive grenades, but clad in yellow cardboard, with about 50% of the regular explosive payload of a real grenade. I used to ride my moped around as a kid, setting them off in cow pastures during winter nights, and they made pretty damn big holes in the snow (about 1.5m diameter); enough for me to realize to never ever be near one when it went off. And this is, as I said, with about 50% payload.

Agreed on the blurry vision and knockdown, though.

Well let me be more clear, they contain small explosives (how else can you make the shrapnel fly around your ears?) but they aren't throwable balls of C4 as some people believe they are (those people are the same who have no clue that handgrenades do shrapnel damage).
