hello all, just tried the new fh 2 update and its quite good and fun to play. the only thing, i missed most of the time on public servers is the squadplay. im used to play reality mod wich boosts squadplay to the max. i think a bit of reality mod could make fh 2 to a real ww2 expirience not just a ww2 fps . i think the most and best way to boost teamplay and squadplay is to remove all spawnpoints exept the base and let only squadleaders place rally points for squadspawns. but not so restrictive like in the actual reality mod , i think the first version of the advanced spawnsystem of reality mod would be good enough. a squadleader with at least 2 members in his squad and the officer kit could put a rally point somewhere outside of a capturable flag , and the sl would be able now to participate in a fight instead of lying somewhere in the dark and get bored . its annoying sometimes to play on a full server and trying to cap a flag while u have randomly spawning ppl in the capzone. it would need more teamwork to cap a flag when there is no spawn at all exept the one your sl place on a safe place outside of the flagradius. i think 100 meters away of the flag would be enough. i think this change alone would make fh 2, even on public servers, to a great teamwork mod and whoever wants to play alone, still can do this , like pilots or lone tankers , but for the inf guys it would be a great opportunity to build up a brothers in arms feeling within ur squad, instead of squadjumping all the time . sry for my bad english , im from germany . but i hope u get my point .:D what do u think about this change ?

Fair points. I personally hate pubbing for the reasons above. I prefer to play in a tournament as well you get the teamwork witch makes FH2 just well the best. Try one. There are 3 or maybe more FH2 touraments about.

I personally like the rally point feature in PR and believe it would make pubbing and tournament play of FH2 even better.
I'm pretty sure FH devs are quite up to date how Project Reality handles teamwork and squad spawning, possibly even discussing about it internally?
Personally I believe PR has gone a tiny bit too far in realism, to the point where it's less fun, more like hard work. I do think that teamwork should be empathised much more in FH2, but this needs to be done gradually. Suddenly changing to PR style spawning system would knock off quite a few players with "WTF, I have to read a manual to play?!", just like in early PR. It's quite an accomplishment from PR devs to have a big playerbase willing to go through with all the restrictions and rules PR now has. I know success as a team on the field makes great moments in that mod, but I don't know if FH-community is ready for it. Maybe teach the players into it, like PR did? :)
I'd start with the point system. Who the hell wants to fix some cannons or tanks when only reward is to be blown bits by enemy fire or getting runover by friendly tank? A decent amount of points for those "menial tasks" would help a lot. I've fixed plenty of cannons and tanks, don't remember seeing many points for that. Spawn-APC's would be a nice step forward as well. Not too complicated and very helpful for both defender and attacker. Suddenly a very meaningful vehicle would be both hunted and guarded.
More ideas for making players to work for the same goals would be nice. More rewards for driving people to the battlefield, bringing that ammo truck to frontlines so our tanks can re-supply (I don't think they resupply tanks with airdrops in RL :) maybe only infantry?) etc etc. Some players would do this "for the team" as long as it's well rewarded.
Maybe FH needs some PR dev's golden touch? :-D

yes , they need it , badly :P.
I still have hoes to see crewman and pilot kits necesary to drive vehicles , or limited kits abalible ONLY for people in squads , rmoving the air droped suplie crates , making suplies trucks MORE important ,etc.
im not saying to turn FH2 in a PR of ww2 ,but right now , FH2 is closer to vanilla bf2 than to how it was in FH 42 .

I used to be all for the rally point system in FH2 until the new patch and WaWs custom maps. The custom maps we use are fun as anything and perfect for tourny play, a rally point would just be an annoyance. Likewise with the new maps in the patch.

i agree whit realy points
First its will make a end of unrealistic tactics like paradroping and delay spawning
in the tournement we head alot of tactics like that one slips inside a flage zone terest spawns on him
you can only set up a realy point if you have squad members whit you and you can not place it close to the flage zone i think this wood be great

I'm agains couse as stated many times before it just doesn't suit FH2. In PR - it's a brilliant idea but not for WW2 mod.

Care to be more precise?
I don't see them slowing things down at all. It brings unity to the squad, when they have a solid reason to stick together. I'd stick with APC spawns for now, RP's are maybe a bit too complicated for Pubbie Joe.
It's like contesting a flag that requires 2-3 soldiers, it may not be possible without a good, full squad. Sure you can ask other team members nearby, but they are not necessarily on the same page with you or have other priorities ("I SO want that K98 ZF!!11").
