I searched, this thead is unquie. I think it's kinda silly that the assault class gets 2 handgrenades and 1 rifle grenade. I think a smaller random % of assualts (1/5 per se) would get 5 rifle grenades instead of their hand grenades. This would be more realistic than the current setup, and now you really can't whore the rifle nades with their fire delay. Btw, on one of the japanese maps the US Grenadier gets 1 rifle grenade and no hand grenades while assault gets a bunch of hand grenades. WLKHOIHOIWOHTOI!HOI!H!OI!!??!!?? WTF?One one why does the grenadier get 1 grenade?!!?!onetwothree

No i think that the rifle kit needs more rifle grenades. And grenades should be removed for smg kits. It will make the rifle classes more attractive and it will hopefully reduce the amount of smgs you see on most servers.

True that. IIRC a german grenadier (for example) carried 15 HE and 5 HEAT rifle grenades.

With that amount a person could use his rifle as a short range mortar, pretty cool.

I think any shot to the upper body with bolt actions should kill in 1, maybe 3 grenades for the panzergrenadier. I'd recommend against taking the SMG's frags away. I agree more people need to play assault, not CQ, but the SMGs need their frags at least for the US assault teams to be realistic.

didn't we talk about this in a thread about the rifle grenade in particular some time in february? i believe the total was 15, with 10 HE and 5 AT grenades.

as i said then: the rifle grenade should be given to a dedicated kit (pickup, primarily) acting as close indirect fire support (lobbing grenades over fences or into houses at distance, for instance) and taking out lightly armored AFVs. the discharger won't be removable (BF-code), so the rifle will receive a penalty in accuracy (extra weight at the end of the rifle), and the firing delay must be removed. the discharger should be placed on different weapons, so that it fits to the map. weapons that can use a discharger are for instance: K98, G43 and StG (yes, the StG). the M1 Carbine used the same device as the garand.

i hope some thought is put into this for the class rework for .7

ordinary rifle men should not get any rifle grenades, random or not.

I think the SMG kit should still have some grenades (we do have the officer already with no grenades), although egg-grenades would be better than stick grenades.

I'd go for a dedicated grenadier class which would get several rifle grenades - anti-tank and high explosive/fragmentation.

What about the British EY Rifle? It was an Enfield No.1 Mk.III (SMLE) or No.4 Mk.I, that was no longer accurate enough for actual service, which were fitted with a cup and a special plate to fire Mills Bombs (No.36 hand grenade). The weapon had a range of around 200 yards. If it were to be a kit, the rifle would be unable to fire anything other than Mills bombs, so a No.2 would be needed for self defence. attachment.php?attachmentid=31498&stc=1attachment.php?attachmentid=31497&stc=1

What did they keep the rifle grenades in? Their bread bag? I can't recall ever hearing of a piece of equipment used to carry the grenades.
