How much recoil did properly emplaced, 'blowback' AT guns actually have? I thought the whole point of the post 'quickfire 75' French guns is that they didn't move the carriage at all and the gun remained in pretty much the same place.
PvtRamzy;4562491Well the 25 Pounder and LeFH 18 recoil is fine so i don't see why not?
It's still not enough. IRL often a field gun would jump off its front wheels for a second due to the recoil.

Well i'm talking about being realisticly inside the BF2 engine would cause too many problems i would have thought with the whole where would the gunner sit etc, the most i think you could do is have the gunner stand beside the field gun and have the recoil bounce it backwards then roll back into position.
Not a whole lot (far from it).
I couldn't see any noticable recoil on the undercarage of a six pounder (or was it 75mm howizter ?) gun during the W&P show 2007 (I filmed it). And this clip of a 25 pounder shows no obvious recoil either:
Here is the noon day gun at the WPS (no my video):

Lol, you do know they are using blanks don't you?
There is some recoil but not much but it was not the six pounder i was talking about with the recoil problem.
Hehe most of those videos I assume, but with the noon day gun and them firing a smoke charge (you can't see it in the video sadly enough since it drops far too the right on the other side of the arena) with blanks would be... quite a feat. =p Too bad you can't really see the gun in those videos. :(
My point was that having the guns recoil exesively would by silly and quite dangerous to the crew, I know of an account were it happend (Arnhem), when in their hurry they fired their guns (6 pounders in their case) without securing it. INjuring the crew when the gun fired.
Oh and the good old Battlefield documentaries. How I miss them. Discovery hasn't shown it in years overhere. :(

I know was just saying can hardly expect any recoil on the undercarriage with a blank charge lol, i linked a nice WWII clip showing it being used in action
It would be nice to see the a little more realistic gun (barrel) recoil for every canon. Would give more atmosfeer and more "bad ass" to the guns

That's what i mean the Pak 38 as far as i can see in FH2 doesn't seem to have any recoil on the barrel and i've noticed it with the 88mm Flak gun aswell.
I've noticed that the gun barrels (both in tanks and on the stationary guns) do recoil, but only when firing using weapon 1 (which is usually AP). Using other weapons (like HE or smoke) will not recoil the gun barrel.
