I have a question and a suggestion regarding the recon planes. I'll ask the question first. While playing in a FH2 server, I was told that recon planes could spot out and call for artillery in the same fashion as using the binoculars for forward observation targets, but I couldn't find anything in the FH2 wiki/manual confirming this. Is this true and how does it work? As for the suggestion, would it be possible to modify the scoring system so that pilots and copilots of the recon plane earn teamwork points for: a) providing reconnaissance support in a way similar to how the UAV works in BF2—where the commander gets a point for each target that is killed while under surveillance by the UAV. The point system wouldn't even have to be the same as the BF2 UAV mechanic, but I think implementing some kind of point system would be great. In fact, I think it would be better if it weren't the same. For example, maybe a portion of the points earned by your team whenever a "spotted" enemy is killed could be awarded to the pilot and copilot of the recon plane, similar to a damage kill assist with the formula assist score = 1 + assist bonus + (difficulty score + strategic importance score) / 2. ...and b) (if the answer to my question is 'yes') providing artillery spot outs resulting in successful kills, again using the same assist score formula. And I suppose this same suggestion would apply for ground units providing forward observation. ...If the answer to my question is 'no', however, then making it true would be my first suggestion, followed by considering the assist point system for successful artillery spot outs.

The passenger seat in the recon plane can spot.

Yeah about the passenger position. I would suggest also that the passenger position gets a binocular and a cross hair because its near impossible to get a good spot from that.

There's going to be system that arty spotter gets assist points for each killed unit that did artillery.

That's good to hear. If that's the case then I suggest that the pilot of the recon earn "driver special ability" teamwork points for whatever points the copilot earns spotting for artillery.

It would be awesome if the planes just had ONE front machine gun on them. That way, it'd be the uber infantry killing machine. They'd be way more dangerous towards infantry because of their slow speed, giving them more time to aim.
Infact, there already is such a plane ingame, the swordfish. Its not placed on any maps though unfortunately.
I take what n0e says way too seriously

The recon plane spotter needs binocular artillery spot as well. Dedicating two skilled and cooperating players (rare?) to the fly duty is an awful lot of investment just to get an artillery spot. It might be out the right side of the plane or something. The passenger in the recon plane should be able to spot if there's one in there, making it easier to get a good spot.
Also please remove the camera shutter sound for the UAV radar thingy on the spotter plane. It's silly that everyone on the whole team hears it. I've seen recon pilots almost get kicked off the server for not ceasing that noise (they didn't know it was automatic).
Hey, you scratched my anchor!!

Perhaps allow the pilot call for arty using the looking down view. It would eliminate the second spot (how often do you actually have a 2nd seater actually spotting) and it can take away the unrealistic "fly spotter plane to flag and have SL passenger jump out." Also, making it that easier to spot means more spots for arty (which can be a rarity), and they could be better than normal spots (more accurate). Then, a spotter pilot can gain some points from spotting and having the arty guy kill using his spots.
