That's right. Removing the death count from the score board.
Why? Ok, here goes..
The death count is usually more of an embaressment to a player, rather than something to be proud of. I think people should strave to a high point count or kill count, rather than trying to get the best score-death results.
How many times have I seen rounds being completely wasted because people are affraid to get killed.. offcourse this is natural, but does it matter less if you don't see your death count? I think so. I think people will commit themselves much more in battle if they didn't have to worry about the death count. This is just something that is "built-in" in every BF player. No one likes to have more deaths than kills, it's not something to be proud of. But it's a game! Yes, but just like in real life, in games real life facts are often reflected.
On many maps gameplay and fun just lacks, because people keep sitting in their base, or keep their tank behind that house, assuming defensive positions, even when their team is supposed to be attacking. I think that is a shame and ruins many rounds. If we'd remove the death count, people will commit themselves much more, and it is isn't a big deal anymore just running up the beach of Omaha, rather than hiding behind obstacles and trying to shoot MG'ers, because there is no longer the "embaressment" of high death count.
And that would make all the players more "equal" as well. People will strave for many points and kills instead, which will make them commit themselves much more in battle, and this will increase the heat of the battle, resulting in a much more fun gameplay. Players will push forward to get a good point or kill score, instead of backing up constantly waiting for eachother to make a move, wasting the whole match trying to keep their kills-deaths count up. Now players will try and get more kills and points than the other players.
Maybe it sounds a bit odd, but just think about it. We already have the mod.. why not improve the gameplay?
I think that it's pretty realistic with people that are afraid of getting killed. It's not youre dream to get torn up by a mortar shell. But removing the death count would not be so bad. I always get killed most when i'am playing (That's because i use to rush in to MG fire :)). I would not miss it anyway...
Removing death count would also encourage people to kamikaze.
MkH^Removing death count would also encourage people to kamikaze.
That's a whole different matter. I even do it myself sometimes. This is because the planes are practically useless on some maps. On Orel, the Russian fighters are useless. So they are much more lethal as kamikaze planes. Besides, they're there in plenty of numbers anyway. or how about Breakthrough. Have you ever been able to take out enemy armour with a Spitfire? I thought so. Kamikaze-ing WILL take out that KingTiger, it's even more effective than using tanks.
I would suggest removing many "useless" planes and either replacing them with other vehicles or just keep the plane arsenal small. Removing death count is just a tiny bonus for kamikaze players. This is because they don't care about their score anyway. This would make your comment basically worthless. I say again, they don't care about scores anyway. I doubt it would encourage kamikaze-ing. It's more of a map problem, or vehicle problem. The plane does not offer enough firepower to make players use it properly. I never see the Stuka used as kamikaze plane, I wonder why.
Just remove the whole scoreboard, i played o.5F few weeks that way. No raping for higher kdr or nothing like that. It was sooo fun to play when every player was equal.
I'd also like the communistic approach, remove the whole scoreboard. Or remove it at least for some maps or game modes, if it is possible.
Well,I try to get not killed as I would in real life. I dont like those players who only want a high kill count but are getting killed a lot as well cause I dont think that`s realistic. I`m not sure but isnt not getting killed a lot also saving tickets? So I would say remove the whole scoreboard and by that maybe the teamplay would get better (its nice to have some dreams):)
I just hope some of the devs might agree on this matter. *sigh* One can always hope.
Remove score board!
LOL, now that'd put some people into a rage frenzy... wouldn't mind that much myself.
