I remember mentioning it somewhere, but I might as well just post about it:

When you kill an enemy soldier, when you take his weapon you gain his hat?!?! whats up with that?? stupid DiCE..

The deal is, It needs to be removed if it is possible. I recall a dev saying that they cant change the core things in BF (like making tunnels etc.) but they can alter the way existing codes behave (e.g. changing the values of tank armour)

So, instead of gaining a magic spawning camp hat with the gun and kit....cant we just get rid of it? and take the gun (and backpack...in fact alter that to the same backpack as your team e.g. axis backpack, allies etc.) and gear.

Here are a few reasons why I think it should be taken out, taking into considderation if it is even possible:

1. It looks ghey. In a real war (being a realism mod) when you pick an enemy's gun up you dont just throw on their hat (unless for comical effect, or at least to my knowlage they dont...)

2. I've done this so many times before, and Its probably up there with the top 10 reasons for accidental tk's. Shooting a guy on your team because you didnt get a look at his cammo, or his tag..and the next best thing being being his hat and gun, you shoot with reflex and instinct....gaining a - 2 score.

3. Gaining their hat?!?! wtf were DiCE thinking?? actually....dont answer that.

4. It is stupid.

Well, I think that pretty much sums it up, so...is it even possible to pick up a gun without gaining the dead guys hat?

Yep, its currently a huge annoyance on Berlin with half the Russian team trying to pick up an Stg 44 and getting a complimentary bright white hat as well. Of course your team only see the hat.....:uhoh:

I think the hat changing thing is a side effect from having different hats for different classes. BUt, yes, it is silly and should be changed.

However, I think this would mean that you won't get a pilot helmet when you pick up a pilot kit.

no you are stupid ... the medic,pilot have a special helmet with him so if the helemet is going to be for only that class they will have to bind all classes to a special helmet .. and wtf you dont need and SDK to make tunnels ...

BAM, First off it would not apply for pilots and there are only about five special pickup kits that include a medi-pack in the whole of FH, and I dont think any include a 'special' hat.

You would not have to bind all hats to a special helmet.

Example: Axis player is wearing peaked cap, he picks up an allied engineer kit. Instead of gaining an allied engineer hat he would gain an axis engineer hat, or he would keep the hat he originaly has.

Example 2: Axis player is wearing a pilot hat, he decides to pick up an allied engineer kit. Instead of gaining the allied engineer hat he would get an axis engineer hat.

Now, only the pilot would make any difference as he would have to drop his pilot hat for an axis alternative to the allied engineer kit he picked up. Its confusing yes, but with the exception of the pilot it makes some sense.

I'm only doing this because I'm tired to death of either tk'ing someone or being killed by my own team, either because of a dark map/area with low visibility that doesnt show colors well, or because of a sillouette or far distance where it is hard to see any cammo or insignia. In either cases it is hard to ditinguish friend or foe, unless you look at the sillouette...but this is destroyed because the only difference in sillouette from an axis and allied player is the hat he wears, or the gun. If you could see the enemy gun being carried by a friendly player you would think twice because of the hat. geddit?

And why am I so stupid, BAM? am I not allowed to suggest anything in a suggestion forum?

well you said Dice is stupid who did it so i thought that i shall call you stupid cuse you didint understand why it was liek that and nevermind its just empty words any way ;) and yes you are right about the Medics no being used in Fh but you asked why it was in normal bf and i answered that question not like it needs to be like this in FH and i think FH should have Random hats like in the Africa maps for all contrys (diffrent helmets,hats,piltokas,berrets would add alot of cool stuff :))

Well in BF:V this isnt an issue... you keep your uniform and only pick up the weapons
