This idea is mainly for FH2, since it is too late for FH and since FH2 will have bayonets.

Here's the idea - since the sniper rifle doesn't get crosshairs, I think no other rifle should either. Crosshairs should be limited to smgs, pistols, and other weapons that can be used in close quarters.

Why you ask? Because in reality, if you're next to the enemy and you have a K98, you are NOT going to take that rifle and point it at him and shoot. Even if you did shoot, if you missed you would not pull the bolt back and prep another shot. You'll either stab him with bayonet or hit him with rifle butt.

But in FH, when you see two enemy soldiers next to each other with bolt action rifles, they'll do a bunny hopping dance around each other shooting and reloading simultaneously. While hilarious to watch, it totally kills the "historical realism" atmosphere.

So, that's my suggestion for FH2 - if all weapons were given a melee option and have ironsights, then crosshairs should either be given to the sniper rifle or taken away from all bolt-action rifles (and possibly semi-auto rifles, though I'm not sure if those can be used in close quarters.)

What thinketh the dev team and my fellow fans?

Sucks for you, in FH2 no one gets crosshairs. Just a center-screen indicator.

Yippee for actual sights! And they'll hopefully be truly 3D ones as opposed to the hybrid crap of BF2.

Just a center-screen indicator.

That's good. What I meant by "crosshairs" is not the expanding stuff we currently get but a static indicator like in America's Army. The concept still applies - all rifles (including sniper rifles) have a center-screen indicator or no rifles (except those that were used in close combat in real life) have center-screen indicators.

So, if i stand still long enough i can still snipe with my rifle without looking down the sights? awesome.. :uhm:

It most likely will be so that in order to get that kind of accuracy you will be forced to look down the sights. Otherwise I'm guessing that it will only be that the invisible crosshairs will stop closing far from full accuracy.

So, if i stand still long enough i can still snipe with my rifle without looking down the sights? awesome..

No, fireing from the hip will be highly inaccurate no matter what your using or how long you stand still.

And all weapons will have reticules (including sniper rifles) exept those that are too heavy or awkward to fire from the hip (namey rocket weapons).
