Now I read that squad players in BF 2 can respawn right next to their leader. Now I'm not sure what you think about it, but I'm sceptical about how "realistic" it would be in FH 2, just to have people pop out of nowhere. Since I don't yet have BF 2 (20000km away from home atm) I would ask you to correct me if I'm mistaken... Anyway, I wanted to suggest, that squad leaders only turn into a mobile spawn point if they are inside APCs, trucks, transport planes or smiliar transportation vehicles. This would actualy give APCs etc. some tactical value because they would allow a squad to regroup without people resawing in unrealistic fation. You could also say that if a commander is in an APC he turns it into a mobile spawn point for the whole team. What do you say ?

Personally, I like it the way it is. You'll always have people spawning out of nowhere, it's a game.

I like the idea, yet I'm not sure it should be used. I think the devs should leave it alone, but if it turns out the spawning hurts gameplay, they'll remove/alter it.

Im not against the suggestion, but some maps dont have apc's.. and as it stands, i think the respawning at the squad leader wont prove to be anymore unrealistic then spawning at a flag.. like it is in BF2, it seems to work out just fine. I do think however that we will have to see alot more uncappable mainbases however to allow this.. because else people would just bail from planes, spawn a squad and take it over as no-one bothers to defend it. This happens in BF2 as well, but its not such a big problem as everything is perfectly balanced. A team without armor isnt doomed, like sometimes in FH.

Thats a good idea actually, if its possible. It would seem that reinforcements are actually coming from enemy held ground, instead of "From behind that outhouse in the middle of nowhere".

Heh. I always mused that on a 64 player server you could land a UH-60 with 5-6 Squad Leaders (with full squads) at a gray flag and then EVERYONE spawns on their squad leader. That's 31 guys (32 minus the pilot that departed) at a flag in 1 UH60 ;) I see what the OP is getting at: Spawning on the SL is a nice feature and he wants it to remain, but he notes that having it be completely unrestricted can get a bit silly at times like my example above. Let me put my own suggestion in the mix. Perhaps there is a finite respawn-at-squadleader-per-squadleader-life? Hmm 6x3=18. 18 Spawns on the squadleader while he's alive, after each member spawns off him the counter goes down and when the counter reaches 0 you cannot spawn off the SL anymore until he dies and respawns (thus resetting the SL's position to a friendly flag). Obviously the number can be tweaked up/down for gameplay. And visually I would say the "counter" would be the color of the spawn dot on the spawn interface. 100% left? Green, then yellow, red, then 0% left=black. This allows spawns at SL without completely abusable system. I would like to also express interest in the distance-from-friendly-flag system as it takes into consideration factors that my suggestion does not.
