If anyone of you have played the Mod SOE for S:HoWWII, you might have played the map called "Red Flood". Basically in this mission, you hold out against a massive wave charge of Russians, while sitting in nice trenches as Germans. In the start, you have a trench, a few overlooking bunkers, a panzer 3, 2 MG34 nests, and a flak 88. You get around 20-30 infantry men to man the trenches and the guns. The Ruskies charge in waves, first being, a 30 man constant charge, 10 or so minutes later, they get better equipment, including snipers, APCs, and even light tanks. About 30 minutes in, they get a few su152s, and the germans get a Tiger. I think this would be a fun map to play for FH. To bring this to FH terms, and encourge a real Red Flood, you can do something like adding few sniper spots, few cover spots, and some tank obstalces. You can even make the allied spawn outside of the map limits (is this possible?) So when they spawn, they have to run into the fire of the germans. Sounds like a fun map for me, and when I play Soldiers, I have a really hard time going against 4 Su152's in my Tiger... I usually lose on the map (hard setting) but I've one once... It's also my favorite map..

Problem would be that it wouldn't play well for Russians and players would complain about it. Also the weapons and vehicles spawning with delay are possible, but most of maps are designed to play for 30 minutes or a bit more. And if it will play too long servers can change the ticket ammount.

We kind have this, no? I mean, while you can't have different numbers of players per team (i.e. 10 million Russians versus 5 Germans and a rusty pitchfork), The Storm sort of gets close to this.

I do like the idea of having ever-increasing nastiness of attackers' weaponry, though. There'd be a lot of potential in there for yet another alternative-objective map, where defenders have to hold out for x minutes against attackers with in increasingly hideous array of tools at their disposal.

I just want to see some sort of map that encourages players to stay in their trenches.. instead of running around them..

Your idea is having Russians getting slaughtered down, trenches are more....WW1, but still very fun.

And back to the topic ...

This map as others have said, seems very similar to Berlin Outskirts. It didn't really work in FH1942 but I guess we'll have to wait and see if it can work in FH2.

IMO the reason it didnt work in Berlin outskirts is because the axis were given a good ammount of armor and they had that panzerowner arty.. Give axis a panzer 3 thats in a good dug in position, a flak 88, and a couple of mg42s in bunkers/sandbagged areas.. Also, Trench warfare was really not uncommon in WWII... Although, a lot more battles were fought in villages and forests..
