Satchels imo are used way too offensively, wether it be the jump throw (that old CS trick that made your grenades go further) that pisses me of most or the spamming of the damn things while I advance on infantry with a tank and they start throwin em like frisbees. Something similar to the rifle grenades time delay could be implimented. 2 or 3 seconds delay. Plus its feasible to believe that in that time he was setting the timer, putting together a fuse, whatever.

Uh, there is no such thing as a defensive weapon. So far I have never seen them abused except during coop when a mass of twenty bots surrounds a tank and they all throw satchel charges at each other and blow everything up. :Puzzled:
I've seen them used as suicide bombs against infantry on city maps (where the spawns are cramped). Not fun.

I never said "Satchels should be a defensive weapon." I said too offensive, like a glorified grenade. Maybe you should play more multiplayer instead of owning on bots. If you do you'll see the same panicked reaction from an engineer, when advanced on by a tank, as he did when there were still lame ass ex packs. In making a delay it will make him more open and vulnerable to attack. And to strider, being "the glass is half empty" man that he is, thanks for an explanation man.

Im not the biggest fan of satchels all together. While they are ALOT better than stupid expacks which are way to easy to kill tanks with, I tend to see people using the satchels over anti tank rockets when the time calls for anti tank. It's not the most realistic thing and I think they should be limited to a small amount of maps or made so they cannot destroy tanks. While people still use anti tank rockets to kill tanks, I think that AT rockets should be about the only effective infantry way of killing tanks.
The delay on the rifle grenade is also very dumb and unrealistic.
The true solution to stop the abuse would be:
Have a delay when taking the weapon out since it would take some time to mount the grenade.
Have a huge blast radius killing the shooter on close impacts.
I agree with the Rifle Grenade thing. It is too hard to use it now. Just make a delay when taking the weapon out (like GeneralBergfruehlingis said).
Satchels are fine and balanced !
It takes skill and timing to get a frag with them so why do people permanently whine about them !!
I´d only suggest reducing the 10 sec timer to 8 sec, because 10 sec just has no practical value.
