in another thread in the General Discussions forum, someone brought up an interesting idea that I've been kicking around for a bit.
Currently, certain vehicles spawn when various flag combinations are captured or other conditions are filled. Could one of those conditions be player balance?
As an example, making super heavy tanks in, say, Berlin or Bulge (yeah yeah crappy DICE map &c &c &c) only spawn when either a certain number of players is exceeded, or when teams are balanced?
This would affect gameplay pretty seriously, but it'd make it harder for a numerically superior team (due to early-on lamejoining) to get a crazy advantage too quickly in maps like Goodwood, and it'd make games on partially full servers a lot more infantry heavy. For example, maps like Prokhorovka, IMHO, rely on a lot of allied teamwork to counter German armor; if you don't have enough of a team around, well good night to that.
Is this even possible, having maps "respond" to server conditions?

Forexample when the German team in Berlin is heavily outnumbered heavy Panzers should spawn? Vice versa? What about in the beginning of lets say Berlin as an example. Do the Panzers spawn as normal, or? Note : Check your private message FuzzyBunny :)

I honestly haven't thought too closely about exactly what should spawn/not spawn under what conditions; taking Berlin, as an example, it would seem a bit silly for an IS2 to spawn with a 5v5 game, or for a KT to spawn on Bulge if the game is 20-10 Axis (due to the lamejoiners we all know and love.)
Before even considering what elements would be affected, it should be made clear whether this is even possible given the BF42/BF2 servers!
