markkina;4085224And what about scoring when you fly that UAV non-armed small airplane?
Exactly. That is what I am getting at. They had this in FH1, but I don't think it got used much because all it could do is spot.
rattovolante;4085273I don't think the mine flag "remembers" who placed it - I suppose when someone is TKed by a mine, the program checks if there's any mineflag within 10 m. from the mine, regardless of who placed the flag (friend or enemy).
Just an educated guess, anyway, without having seen the code.
That is what I said. The mine knows who placed it, the mine flag does not. I am not sure why this is so.
Also think about the issue of points given. A spotter would be counted as infantry but the artillery is larger (I think) and does not get the same points. What would the spotters points be calculated off?
The spotter points could simply be a kill assist (1 point) for each kill. It could be a fraction (1/2) of the arty players points. Whatever. The point is to reward the teamwork.
However, before we worry about how many points to reward the spotter, we first have to be able to figure out who the spotter is.
@Dogness: Thing is, then the Spotter gets more points then the Arti man. (Talking off the top of my head because I do not have the table at hand) IIC the Arti man gets zero points for killing infantry.
@Who the spotter is: I honestly cannot understand why this is that important. I care zero for who spotted for whom and what as long as they are helping us reach our goal. It is among the things that really ticks me off to no end. People should leave the points behind and just worry about winning the round.
Like an old coach of mine said: Who cares how many touch-dows you scored or how many games you won. It only seems to be an ego thing, when you think about it.
@Strumtrupp This is the FH2 suggestion forum. This thread was my suggestion. Your opposition has been noted. Please go troll a different suggestion.
This is a discussion forum, a place to discuss stuff. Just because you do not like what we say does not make it trolling.
Actually, this is a place to make suggestions. I made a suggestion about adding scoring for spotters. You came here to argue that "People should leave the points behind and just worry about winning the round." That discussion is for another thread. You can call it "Why I think the devs should remove all scoring".
If you wanted to discuss this topic, you would have read the original post where I gave a very good reason for this suggestion. After playing in public servers the past week, the reasoning has been proven out. Getting people to spot is much more difficult than it should be. Like everything else, if you give people points to spot, they will be more likely to do it.
I think it is a good idea to encourage teamplay by giving extra points. It worked well in bf2 with the medic, supporter and engineer. I guess that there would be more spotters on the battlefield if the got points for doing it.
Couldn't say it better this is something I would suggested too.
How about this... when the round ends the artillery kills for the team gets averaged. Then give anyone with a recon kit X% kill assists (60-70% would be nice as it wouldn't be enough to outstrip the gunner score with other actions but still gives some incenitive to spot) for each of the gunner average. Although too much would lead to people tanking 'til the end and switching kits for the extra points:confused: Maybe limit it to people who only used recon? or
you don't play for points, that's it.
seriously, it's only favorable to be a sole spotter if you are a sniper.
